Questions & Answers

Blower for snow: 15x5. 00- These will be used on a size 6 tire. I'm not sure what size I require. AND A GARDEN TRAILER 23x10. 50- 12 are the same. The description is very vague. ?

23x10 on the front of another supplier's store. 50- Medium or the QG20032 part number are recommended for 12 size. That's exactly what I'm going to do.

I have a 24 11 10 atv tire and am wondering if a small or medium tire chain rubber tightener is required. ?

I believe the medium ones should work, but if you call Amazon and give them the part number for the chains and tightener, they should be able to tell you.

For a 4x10x6 snowchain, what tension do I need?

I think small because that's what I did with my Cub Cadet and it worked perfectly.

Will mediums fit my atv tires, which are 25x8 in the front and 25x10 in the back?

They will, in fact. They're perfect for my 24x10 tires because they still have plenty of stretch.

Tensioners are fantastic
5/5

I read a review before purchasing these tensioners that said the rubber had deteriorated. However, if you're familiar with these tensioners, you'll know that a can of silicone spray is a must-have. Not only does this protect and preserve the rubber, but it also makes installation much easier. You want the rubber to easily slip through the clips, and the silicone aids this process greatly. Before putting the tensioners away at the end of the season, you should apply a thick coat of silicone. I do the same thing with my car's tensioners, but I also spray the cables. This lubricates any areas where the cables may spin. These tensioners, as well as a can of silicone and a good pair of gloves, are all things I recommend.

So far, the durability of this item has not been determined
4/5

These chain tensioners were purchased for use on a brush cutter with a knobby 18x6 chain. 50- 8 tires. I bought the chains from the brush cutter manufacturer, but it was clear right away that I'd need some more tensioners. During the winter, I removed my brush cutter from the unit and replaced it with a grader blade to clear snow from my large driveway. br>br>I haven't used these long enough to know how long they'll last, but the circular rubber piece appears to be 3/8" diameter neoprene, and the overall diameter of the ring is about 6. 5" on the outside, plus 1" for each of the plastic hooks. It all seemed to fit together nicely. The main concern will be whether or not the neoprene ring will hold up. not to stretch out but rather to stand up. I'll need more 1" connectors if it stretches too far, but we'll see. br>br>Determining what size you need can be difficult, and it depends as much on the type of tire as it does on the stated size. The Amazon listing and package say this is for a small tire, but the manufacturer's website now says it is for a medium tire, which I prefer. More information can be found in the photos attached.

I didn't need to stop plowing to adjust the chains because it worked well
5/5

I plough a cement driveway with Terragrips. I have a habit of forgetting to slow down and spinning the tires. The Terragrips would be dislodged, and I'd have to reposition them in the freezing cold and snow. It's not a particularly pleasurable occupation. The tightener, as you can see in the photo, removed the slack from the chain, allowing me to complete the driveway. I tightened the chains later, in the safety of my garage. I got the chains tight enough after doing this twice that I didn't have to do it again. The point is that the tighteners allowed me to complete the driveway instead of stopping in the middle of it. The rubber tighteners, according to what I've read, only last a couple of seasons. If that happens, I'm considering switching to steel, but I'm worried about the plastic wheel weights tearing up. I'm more than likely fine with purchasing a new set of rubber ones. They were only $14. br>br>I used the medium on a 24X12X12 tire, which was a stretch but worked.

What Size To Order By Taregted Tire Size: Use Amazon's item description to find out what size to order by taregted tire size: br>br>"Security Chain Company QG20030 Quik Grip Small Tire Traction Chain Rubber Tightener"br>br>"Security Chain Company QG20030 Quik Grip Small Tire Traction Chain Rubber Tightener"br>br>"Security Chain Company QG20030 Quik Grip Small Tire Traction Chain Rubber Tightener"br>br>"Security Chain Company QG200 I took off the 16-inch 4-inch wheel and tire
4/5

I completed the 80x8)assembly and placed it on the workbench. Only a small amount of hand and arm strength was required to stretch the tighteners onto the wheel and tire assembly. To make the hooks slide more easily on the rubber "band," I sprayed them with silicon spray. The tighteners in size "small" fit perfectly and appeared to provide sufficient tensioning.

My Cub Cadet 2185 Lawn and Garden tractor, which has a 23 x 9 tire, is equipped with the medium
4/5

The rear tires are 5 x 12 inches. So far, everything has gone well. My Cub Cadet 2185 Lawn and Garden tractor, which has a 23 x 9 tire, is equipped with the medium. The rear tires are 5 x 12 inches. Despite the fact that the tires are extremely worn, they appear to be holding up well in the snow so far. On each of them, they could add one or two more hooks.

The "Small Size" was used on Compact Tractor Tires with dimensions of 26x12x12
5/5

These were used on the rear tires of a John Deere 455 Compact Diesel Tractor, despite the fact that they are described as "Small Size. " The actual tire size is 26x12x12, which is far from being a "small tire. " I ordered two sets of "chain tensioners" and used two on each rear tire (yes, both sets were applied to the outside side of the wheel only). br>br>These were a good fit for this size tire and did a good job of filling in the gaps left by the rubber traction strips I installed. The company must have sizes of "really small, micro sized, and tiny" to fit your average walk behind snow blower, as the description mentions using these on "snow blowers" and "small tires. " br>br>The size descriptions and applications provided by the company are inadequate. I went to the sellers direct website to get more information about the size of these, but there was none. I believe they should provide a photograph of the un-measured area. extended and then "stretched out" or extended sizes of their product, making it clearer what these actually fit. br>br>These are well-designed, and the plastic clips appear to be reasonably strong when used as intended. They worked great for securing the Traction Strips on my tractor, and they look a lot better than the "bungee cords" I've seen other people use. br>br>For the money, I think these are a good buy that will help me tighten up the "Rubber chains" I installed. I'd order them again, but not for a long time if they keep working as well as they have. br>br>For anyone concerned about maintaining the testosterone level status of their tractor or snow blower, my wife did comment on my tractor having "pretty pink clippy things on the wheels," as shown in the product photos, because the clips are a bright pink color. If you're worried about having "pink clippy things" on your vehicle when you use these, be aware that the clips are a bright pink color, making them easy to spot. To be honest, I don't give a damn.
