I've never seen such a waste of materials and money as these tire covers. For the winter, I was hoping for something to protect my tires and rims. They're made of such thin material that you can see right through them. I held them up to see my boys silhouette on the other side, and it was cloudy and dim outside; I usually give positive reviews, but when an item is poorly designed and garbage, it is exactly that: garbage.
These are extremely snug and secure in their fit. The grommets were easily secured with the included fastening cords. The material is thinner than expected, which results in the loss of a star. It appears to be similar to Tyvek in appearance. These should work fine, but only time will tell how long this material can withstand the heat of Phoenix. But, for the money, and assuming I get a few years out of them, I'm satisfied.
While my Winnebago View is in storage, I did some shopping for wheel covers. My previous experience with wheel covers was limited to vinyl, which is nearly impossible to use in cold weather, cracks after a few years, and becomes unusable. I was delighted to discover these covers, which are made of a woven fabric similar to that used in my RV cover. To make installation easier, I ordered a size that is slightly larger than my wheels. So far, the quality and "usability" have both pleased me. It's simple to install; simply slip it over the tire and tighten the inside corners with a hooked strap. Except for hooking through the grommets sewn into the corners, it is not attached to the cover. Because they are "bungee" type and a little difficult to stretch out and hook, I found this to be the only disadvantage. Furthermore, I can easily imagine them becoming misplaced or forgotten. Fortunately, they aren't required for a secure fit; instead, they serve as insurance in the event of strong winds. br>Overall, the quality, fabric, and design meet my expectations. Longevity will, I suppose, be determined over time.
These are ideal because they complement the color of my RV and are extremely long-lasting. Unlike black covers, these don't get hot in the Texas sun and don't show any signs of wear or creases from the heat baking the fabric. This is fantastic.
All I needed to install them was a willingness to get down on my hands and knees for a few seconds after inserting one end of the supplied bungee cord into its grommet and then tossing the other end toward the other grommet behind the tire with a short stick, then simply inserting it into the grommet. I had to be careful not to tear the cover because the tires were new and sticky, but it was not difficult, and uninstalling was even easier-- For each tire cover, it only takes a few seconds. True, the covers do not appear to be particularly thick, but all they need to do is protect against UV, which I am confident they will. Overall, this is preferable to allowing the tires to degrade and potentially blow out. It is for this reason that the tires have been replaced. A front tire with about 22,000 miles on it had tread separation. We made it to a tire shop before the tire blew, but I'm hoping that with these covers, we won't have to worry about that happening again.
My tires were slightly smaller than 29", but I bought the size that fits 29" to 31". The front wheel hub cap extends beyond the tire surface, resulting in a measurement of 75". If I had bought the size that fits up to 28, as you can see from the photos, it would have been a tight fit. 9". Prior to purchasing these covers, I had the vinyl covers, which cracked after only six months. These covers appear to be made of the same material as RV covers, and I've always had good luck with RV covers when properly protected and installed, so I'm hoping for the same with these tire overs.
They simply sit there, preventing your RV's tires from being ruined by UV light. There isn't a lot of deterioration. They've performed admirably, and they're simple to install and remove. For the past six months, I've had my set. In that time, I've only moved once, and I'm a formidable foe. These are excellent value for money, and I would recommend them.
These are nice, flexible, and simple to install tire covers. On our trailer, we have large tires (215/75-R16). 5) and the large covers are very comfortable to wear. The cords that wrap around the back of the tire are fully removable, which I like. I'm not sure how long these will last, but I like how they cover every tire that could be exposed to the sun.
