Questions & Answers
They're a tight fit, so I'd go with the 36-inch pair. The set is 39 inches wide. Any discrepancy will be compensated for by the tie-down strap.
This item is only available in a two-pack, rather than a four-pack.
I'd recommend going with the larger size; a little extra vinyl should suffice, and the cover will be slightly wider to better cover the tire's width.

br>I got my first set of these for my 4X4 Ford van, which is mostly covered by a custom tarp. It's in direct sunlight and there's a strong breeze. I was expecting to have to replace these covers (the first set) every year, as I do with the tarp/cover for the van, but I'm pleased to report that they are still in good working order. Even the straps are still in good condition! I recently bought a second set for my Tacoma, which is kept in a carport but gets some sun at different times of the year. br>I'm looking forward to using these for a long time. I don't usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to tell you about this fantastic product. Thank you for your time and consideration, as well as the excellent price.
After blowing out two tires on our fifth wheel with only 4,300 miles on it, we replaced all four with LT235/85R16 light truck tires. Knowing how damaging the sun is to tires, we decided to invest in wheel covers for added protection. The Camco 30/32" covers are well-made and look great. The bottom strap that goes around the back of the tire instead of behind the tire in the middle clips together on one end of the cover, which is a big selling point. While I still have to kneel to reach behind the wheel, I don't have to lie down on the ground. We've had good luck with other Camco products, so we're hoping for the same success with these.
These seemed great at first. They felt good, powerful, and adaptable. In windy areas, the behind-the-tire strap is ideal for keeping the covers in place. The majority of the time, they will stay on without the strap, and we only use it in the winter when we know we won't be getting the RV out. They stay snug around the tire the rest of the time and do not move. It's much easier to put on and take off a single tire cover than it is to put on and take off a double tire cover. They did, however, begin to crack after about a year. They've only worsened since then. I'm not sure how long these are supposed to last; we've had them for 4 1/2 years and might get another year out of them before they fall apart completely; perhaps you can't expect a $20 wheel cover to last 5 years? They are more durable and long-lasting than the ones we bought from Camping World.
I was concerned about the 24" - based on a couple of other Amazon reviews. Camco Wheels are available in 26" sizes. Tire Protectors may be too small for my trailer tires, which are 26 inches in diameter. These protectors fit perfectly, which was a pleasant surprise! The protector's top elastic pocket fits snugly over the tops of the tires, and the protector's bottom reaches just to the ground. br>br>A few things to keep in mind:
- These items are about a third of the price of comparable items sold by Camping World under a different brand name, but they appear to be just as well made. br>br>- I used to own the steering wheel. I've used the strap/buckle arrangement on these Camco protectors and the strange elastic cord thing on "brand X" from Camping World, so I can say from experience that the strap/buckle arrangement on these Camco protectors is far easier to use.
- I don't see how you can install these without laying down on the ground to reach the strap behind the tire, so have a garbage bag or something else to lay on handy. The same could be said for the Camping World guardians. )br>br>Now I'll have to wait and see how they survive the winter. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> I've had these tire protectors for three winters and they're still going strong. br>br>Refresh your browser: br>br> These tire covers have lasted four winters and still look great!.
These are tire covers, and they do their job perfectly. I just got mine, so I can't say how long they'll last, but they're perfect for my tires. The stap and buckle on the back side are an added bonus for keeping them tethered to the tires. br>br>I'm one of those people who owns a camp trailer but lives near the campground. As a result, my tires will be exposed to the elements. I'll rot before the tread wears out. That irritates me greatly. These tire covers are a much more cost-effective option than purchasing new tires before the tread wears out. br>br>Because my tires are 225 75R 15, I had to use an online tire conversion calculator to figure out what size I needed, which came out to 28. 3" tires. Some customers recommend ordering a size up. I bought the correct size and they fit perfectly; I don't think going larger would be a bad idea, but if they flap and move around a lot in the wind, they might wear out faster than if they are snug on the tire. br>br>I also chose these covers for a specific reason. I'm in possession of a BAL x- I needed a tire cover that would work with the chocks on my trailer because my driveway is steep. (BAL 28012 X-) X-) X-) X-) X-) If you're not familiar with these terms, they're Chock Tire Locking Chock and Chock Tire Locking Chock. They go between the tires, where the tire cover would otherwise get in the way. I installed the tire covers with the bottom/edge rotated slightly to wrap around the x-frame. chocks. Without the strap, I'm not sure how well this would work, so I'm going to go with this tire cover. My tires are still completely covered, sun-protected, and well-secured. They're so good that I ordered a second set for my work trailer. br>br>I snapped a photo of the side of the box, which lists all of the tire sizes that these will fit. For your convenience, I'll include that image on the product page.
My tires have a diameter of 33 inches. This is a 33-inch size. 35 was the perfect size. The elastic piping on the back side keeps the front looking smooth and tight with no bunching. Unless the wind is really strong, I don't think the back securing strap is necessary. I can't seem to get them to connect on the rear dual tires, no matter what I try. While it would compromise the clean lines, it would be more functional if the straps were secured to the front bottom rather than the back bottom; at the very least, this would allow the straps to be tightened. Connecting the buckles is a bit of a challenge, and tightening the strap on the back wheels is nearly impossible. However, for the price, this is a fantastic product, and the strap is largely unnecessary.
