Grabbing the rod by the ends and removing the two hooks. The rod should be dropped down the shock hole. Bottom of the picture is where the hook should be placed. Thread the rod down and put about three coils of hook up. Take up the spring until it becomes loose on the bottom of the A frame. Let go of the bottom ball joint and the compressor will be free.
You can indeed position this inside the coil spring, but you must position it as high as possible on one end and as low as possible on the opposite side to compress enough that it will allow the coil spring to be removed.

I used it on an 87 Monte Carlo SS and it worked fine. It was necessary to use a few washers so the post would not go past the top of the spring, which would have made removal and installation a lot harder. An irritating problem with the hook was that it would get stuck in a "closed" In any case, a quick tap of the hammer or the wrench did the trick.

are thinking of installing this item on a regular sized truck, please do not. One of the bolts securing the arms slipped (completely sheared off) during compression, and the other was able to walk out during compression. Wear safety equipment when performing this task. If you use this on trucks, it will ruin the suspension. It works great for cars and smaller coil springs, I'm sure.

There are no complaints whatsoever. When the spring is fully compressed, I had to cut the screw length in order to clear part of the body on my s10. I would definitely recommend this to anyone!.

Works as described According to the rating, I would feel more comfortable with it only if it were small and light.

Since my old Fiat's springs are short and there is not enough room to add an external compressor, I had to make do with the only option I had. The clamp worked great on this product. Simply put your spring in it and clamp the bottom down from the inside. The next step is to disassemble the compressor so that you can remove it from You're all set! By the time I removed the first spring, I had the placement down and could easily remove the compressor by removing only two of the four screws that keep.

This is internal. This is a very high quality product. I like how easy it is to use and how functional it is. You can use it to pull in any spring, no matter how strong. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS.

Easily remove the suspension springs of a sla safely with this tool.
