Questions & Answers

Is the length of the straps specified?

The distance between the top bolt in the pad and the hook's center is 7. 5". The distance between the top bolt's center and the inside-bottom of the hook is 9. 5". In my opinion, it's a close call. It would be much nicer if the strap was an extra 2" long. br>The problem is that because the straps go inwards and angle out, the pad rests on the bottom edge of my tire and the top of the rim, shortening the overall 9. 5". br>The problem is that the angle of the pad bracket, which is also equal to the angle of the jack, is nearly 45 degrees. To match the angle, the jack base must be placed beneath the tire and the jack must be placed on the tire. br>It's better than nothing, though. I'm going to cut a piece of grade 70 transport chain and attach a hook to it to wrap around two'spokes.' The length can be adjusted to your liking. The straps have the potential to dangle.

What is the width of the hook's tip and body? My 1994 Ford Bronco is equipped with factory forged alloy 10-hole rims. There are only a few holes. ?

The device is constructed from half-finished wood. steel rod, inch diameter This is bent into a hook shape after being formed in a loop. Will this work if the jack is used as a last-resort or emergency winch? long?

Yes. The lift pressure will be applied to the normal part of the jack, so nothing will be broken by it. The hooks can be used to grab whatever it is you're hooking onto.

Is there spare hardware included in the package?

When jacking, it's essential to keep your center of gravity low
5/5

Pros: This handy gadget allows you to lift your rig without having to decompress your suspension. What exactly does that imply, you might ask? When you jack up a vehicle on its frame, you must lift the vehicle's weight off of the suspension until the wheel/tire finally rises off the ground. On a vehicle with a lot of articulation and a low center of gravity, If your suspension travels too far, your jack may be unable to keep up. The weight of the vehicle stays on the suspension when you jack up the wheel rather than the frame, so you don't have to jack up nearly as far. When jacking, this is ideal because it keeps your center of gravity low. One more thing to mention. This gadget will not work if you need to change your wheel or tire - To remove the wheel, you'll need to jack it up at the frame. In that case, a ratchet strap can be used to secure your suspension to the frame. Your suspension will not "unload" as a result of this - As a result, with minimal jacking, you can still get the tire off the ground. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. Yes, that's correct. This is not a recommendation, but rather a review. How to do a lift There aren't any disadvantages in my opinion. This is a fantastic product. br>br>The bottom line is that if you actually'wheel that mall- If you're a crawler, one of these should be in your recovery kit.

Puller for fence posts
5/5

Fortunately, I haven't had to use it for vehicle recovery yet, but it works great for removing fence posts from the ground. It has a sturdy construction, is simple to operate, and performs admirably. If you have a high-definition television, you should use it. This is a useful piece of equipment to have around for farm/garden/yard work as well as off-roading.

Is it a bad batch or a low-cost copy? The stitching that holds the two hooks together is far too low, making proper hooking to the rim impossible
3/5

This isn't the same as the previous version. Someone is attempting to sell us a low-cost copy or a batch that is extremely defective. Please do not purchase it.

Got a Hi- Lift? If you don't have this guy, try lifting your vehicle
5/5

Another reviewer put it as plainly as possible: Lifting most vehicles with a Hi-Lift would be impossible without it. It's nearly impossible to lift something. br>br>I noticed this when I first got my Hi-Fi. Lift considered it a useful add-on, but ultimately decided against it. Then I had to adjust my parking brake the other day. The floor jack, to my surprise, had failed. So, if you'll excuse me, I'll put my Hi-Fi in use. I've had a lift in my possession for a long time but have never used it. At first, I was stumped as to where I should begin lifting the Jeep (JK) in the first place. I decided to take the side-step after realizing it was my only option. Thankfully, my friend intervened when he noticed that my side-step was about to slam into the Jeep's body! Thank you, but no thanks. So we sat it down again, and I quickly placed an order for this. br>br>It won't bother me if my Jeep gets a few battle scars here and there, but damned if I don't have a good story to go along with it!.

These don't have as good a grip on "thicker" alloy wheels (which are becoming more common)
4/5

I wish the hooks were a little longer because, as others have pointed out, they don't have as secure a grip on "thicker" alloy wheels (which are becoming more common), as they would on a stamped steel rim. On my 2016 F-list, this is the only place. This device is attached to a "fat" section of the profile that also has fairly sharp edges on a 150 with factory alloy rims. I carry a small piece of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) to keep the rims from "cutting" the surface on the hooks (and thus damaging the rims). Rubber with a durometer of 100 This is available for almost no money at McMaster. A 1/8" piece between the rim and the hook does not appear to affect grip or safety, but it does reduce the likelihood of damaging anything.

It gets the job done, but it has an unpleasant odor
4/5

It gets the job done. Large aluminum spokes can be accommodated by hooks that are large enough. It appears to be dependable and sturdy. The only drawback is that it stinks like hell. When I had it sitting on a bench in my garage, it made the entire place smell bad. Confined to a cabinet, where its concentrated stench can now be contained. Without some sort of container, don't even consider transporting this in your car. The rubber bumper/isolator at the top of the unit appears to be emitting stench.

This is an excellent piece of equipment! This is a fantastic addition to my hi-tech collection
5/5

lift kit. Heavy-duty construction. My 2017 Power Wagon is no problem for him to lift. In terms of noxious odors, Mine, on the other hand, has none. That rubber has the scent of a new tire, but you have to put your nose on it to get a good hit. It's been on the floor in the back seat of my truck for days and has had no effect on the cabin atmosphere. I'm not denying that there is an odor, and some people are hypersensitive to odors, so I'm not criticizing them. Anyway. I really like the item, and I'm glad I have it in case the trail forces me to use it!.
