Questions & Answers

Does the cable length vary from place to place?

These have been used on big blocks as well as small blocks, diesels, and four-cylinder engines. A large semi engine like a Detroit or a Cat will not be able to run on this generator, but cummins and v8 diesel engines available in normal trucks should all be able to use it. But the big v8 diesels put the thing at more or less its maximum weight. I was able to use it without any issue, even if I was 455 years old.

Can this lift accommodate a weight of up to 500 pounds?

It's not clear to me how to proceed. However, I used the Oberg Tilt to install an engine, clutch, and transmission assembled in a 1978 MGB using an Oberg tilt. The process was extremely simple and made my job much easier. My process took less than 30 minutes, and I made sure I was moving slowly enough not to make a mistake. In summary, I am quite satisfied with the Oberg and would recommend it to others.

The largest and heaviest big block Chevrolet possible weighs approximately 1,400 pounds. There was no chevy model that was designed to have the ability to change the angle. What's 750 pounds?

Using a T5 transmission on a smaller engine and a 4cyl engine with gloves on is easy. The only small issue I had was with the locking lever that sets it securely. The lever is very small and hard to easily use with gloves on, but everything worked well. I managed to insert a 20in x 1/2in breaker bar in the lift easily. For boat motor removal, I have had no problems using the device, it has been the best device I have used or bought

Do you have the cable available for purchase / replacement Thank you for taking the time to answer my ?

A mechanic uses the tool in the workshop
4/5

The tool is light and doesn't take up much space, and it's definitely strong enough to support an eight-cylinder Range Rover engine. As soon as I receive a 7, I will test it. Assembled diesel engine of 3 liters. It will absolutely break if I don't review it again within the next week. While adjusting the load leveler back and forth with the safety latch takes a little getting used to, it operates faster than the conventional load leveling device. You could use a breaker bar instead of a ratchet, this will make it easier to move back and forth between the bell housing and the breaker bar. There are only two things I would like to see changed about it make it into 4 different mounting spots instead of just two. An engine that is mounted on each head is kind of crooked if it is picked up this way. You should definitely give it a try.

This is a worthwhile investment if you run lots of engines
5/5

Putting it in and taking it out is great, but you shouldn't use it if you are retrofitting, it doesn't adjust the same way a worm gear does. In any case, it does work well for In & Out This is out. This tool is very handy and makes removal and installation much easier as not only can you adjust the tilt angles based on the two bolts only need to be installed no chains or additional links need to be adjusted.

This is a great product, well designed, light weight, and convenient to store
5/5

A friend helped to get it done and a two-year-old helped as well Our first hoist was a 15-ton engine hoist, and then we installed a 5 ton hoist. A Chrysler 2L engine with an A500 transmission was mounted directly on the Dodge Dakota pick up truck without the radiator support having to be removed. A 18 inch breaker bar was all it took to tilt the engine-transmission assembly into place. Excellent product, well designed for its purpose, light weight, and takes up only a small amount of space when not in use. It required a strong arm to rotate it while holding the lock open with the other hand. It is an excellent tool that I strongly recommend.

I love how well it works

A good set of lift lugs is *Be mindful that the maximum is three. It is tilted towards the viewer at about It is a pain to unjam the cable if you exceed that limit as it will 'reverse wind' and you will have to manually rewind it.

It has a great design and is easy to use

While working as a line technician for a dealership, I learned a lot about computers. Pulling motors with this sling is something I have done many times. Once I missed him but that was due to the lock not being fully closed. I would buy it again without a doubt!.

Let me know if you want This worked very well as the engine sling(leveler) I was looking for to slide an engine out of my Triumph TR6, but I would have liked hooks, and maybe I could incorporate hooks into the suspension since many engines have lifting rings/tabs already mounted
5/5

Although I did find it a little annoying to turn the 1/2" drive to make the load level, there is a small tab which holds it at a chosen level, which means that you have to get the load just right in order for the lock/tab to unlock again to move it.

The slot takes up less space to use than a ratchet and it acts a little differently than a ratchet because it is completely manual
