Although I like this meter, it has two major I have worked with 87s) and other auto rangers professionally for years. Although it automatically ranges to a point, sometimes I have to manually define the range to explain what I want. In addition, I also started experiencing resistance problems with the meter leads after a few weeks. Somehow, as the surfaces age and harden, it appears that you must turn them periodically between the top and middle types. Fixing this issue with another set of leads will be part of my production work, but I will keep them on hand.
Fluke 88 is the best automotive multimeter in existence. I got my first one in 1994, my second one in 2007. This meter never lets me down and I use all of its features on a daily basis. Fluke 88 at Amazon is the best price. The 87V is also great but if you're going to use the 88 for diagnostics, the features on the 88 like the +/- 2 mm depth and DC volt default make it more intuitive for the technician.
There is no exception with this product. This product has a brilliant customer support team, and is made in the USA. It holds its value well. The only issue is that they can be quite expensive when compared to lesser meters and are more of a tool for professionals. However, the value is there for the most part.
My first Fluke 88 was purchased in the summer of 1990 - that's almost 30 years ago and it continues to function. All that's wrong with it is that the display gets very dim and is hard to read. Fluke doesn't service the meter anymore because it is too old. I called them to request assistance with repairs. This Fluke 88-tower is an upgraded version of the old one. It has taken me a while to get used to this new meter, but so far it has been pretty The only thing I might say to anyone reading this is do not be afraid to get a Fluke meter they are professional grade meters. It will make you proud every time when you learn how to use it. I have used these products for over 35 years and have been happy with them. Jim Gray retired from the auto industry. A boat mechanic now works for me.
Automotive computers are our specialty. We are an electronics repair shop. One Fluke 88V has been in use every day for close to ten years, and the other two are less than a year old The toddler is two Although Fluke advertises these as high-precision products, for us the most important feature is the speed at which they execute. A multimeter that takes two volts does not work There is an elapsed time of 3 seconds for the reading to stabilize, so when you take a measurement, you wait for it to stabilize, and you never know whether what you see is the final outcome, or if it When performing continuity tests with the "beep" function, some multimeters take two minutes to display the result after positioning the probes.
With the 88V, it updates so quickly that the result you see is the final result once you have your probes positioned. There is a slight delay of 3 seconds before it will beep, so you have to move very slowly to be certain whether it will beep. It takes just one second for the Fluke 88V to beep. Additionally, I think the battery life on this phone is excellent. The second way to use it I get almost a year of battery life out of a 9V battery if I use it 4 hours a day!.
It is not an 88V, but a Fluke 88 replacing a 25 year old (at least) Fluke 88. The quality of the two is vastly different. I like this meter more than the previous one but it's not as nice as it used to be. I'm not sure if I like the new one or if I'm just used to the old one.
This is true for the automotive market as well as Easy-to-use Fluke interface helps you get reliable readings quickly and easily. Having a mechanic shop is important if you are supposed to hire one if you don't have one, it is hard to find work.
It is definitely the way to go! I used an older version more than a decade ago. I am a certified Master Auto Tech and when I buy tools, I only buy the best product for the job at hand. This Fluke meter does it all. I highly recommend it for anyone who is a mechanic or master auto tech who does electrical.
