Questions & Answers

Is this a spring model or a vacuum model?

Both. To get the grease to the head, you push up on the bottom plunger with a screwdriver, and the head vacuums it in via positive displacement. You could add a spring to the bottom to push it continuously if you wanted, but in my experience, it isn't necessary.

Is it possible to attach a hydraulic nozzle to this miniature tractor? gun?

Well, John, I'm staring at it and it appears to be a 1/4"X20 thread (internal on the gun), but it's so small that a hydraulic nozzle this small is difficult to imagine. It's not Zerk-sized, so good luck with that. It's a fantastic little gun, by the way!

Has anyone made a comparison between this and the Astro or Park Tool models?

Yes, I have several of these as well as a variety of park tools for various greases, and in my opinion, these are identical to the paintless versions.

Is it necessary to fill the container by hand, or can the smaller mini grease tubes be used instead?

Hand filling is shown in the instructions, but no mention of using a tube is made. I followed the instructions and filled mine up to the brim. It's simple and effective.

If you value a good tool, it is well worth the money
5/5

It's well-made and does what it's supposed to do. I use it almost every day. Although it cost a few dollars more than some of the others, everything about it, from the plunger tolerances to the return spring, is superior to the less expensive models. Dualco is the way to go if you want or need something of this nature. The only drawback is that you can't use the Dualco cap and plunger on cheaper models because the threads aren't compatible. I bought a less expensive one for home use because I use my Dualco at the bike shop where I work part-time, but neither I nor anyone else in the shop knew how to load and prime the gun properly until I read some reviews and looked at the instructions more closely. Attempting to force the bottom up with various tools without unscrewing the top enough to expose the groove designed to relieve pressure when loading the unit or removing a gap in the grease in the gun has resulted in the destruction of many of these babies. You can pound all you want, but unless the pressure is relieved, all you'll accomplish is distorting the bottom disc and ruining the gun. For home use, I purchased a second Dualco; the cheap one works well as a paper weight.

I'm going to follow the instructions that are enclosed! I received my Dualco grease gun yesterday, and filling and priming it was a breeze
5/5

Anyone who has issues with it clearly did not follow the instructions for filling and priming it. I filled mine with putty knife and grease, tapped it on my palm several times, and must have tapped out all the air bubbles because there was a little grease that came out when I left the top loose and stuck a screw driver through the slot in the bottom. I tightened the top and wiped away any excess grease from the side, and it worked perfectly. If you follow the instructions, this grease gut will perform as advertised. This is a product that I would strongly recommend.

This is a fantastic little grease gun
5/5

This miniature grease gun is one of my favorites. When you only need a little grease and don't want to get all messy digging in the grease tub, this is a great tool to have in the shop. I did purchase the longer needle for applications in which I need to get into tight spaces. I have two different models (one has a quick connect with interchangeable tips and a zerk that allows the gun to be filled with a standard size grease gun). If you follow the instructions, this model is simple to fill by hand and produces a small precise amount of grease. It's made to last, and I expect it to keep pumping grease long after I'm gone. Only the gasket, I believe, will need to be replaced. This grease gun, like the rest of Dualco's grease guns, is modular, which means you can add or remove attachments to suit your needs. They're a little pricey when you add different attachments, but they're sturdy, well-built little grease guns, so I think of them as an investment. It's a small price to pay for a fantastic little tool that's also manufactured in the United States.

This one is worth purchasing. This is what I use on the bars of my chainsaw. It performs admirably. It should work perfectly anywhere else where a standard grease gun fitting won't work or fit, such as a small port or fitting. br>br>There are some knock-offs that are a little less expensive. I'd seen knock-offs of this design before, but I went ahead and bought this one, and I'm glad I did. It's well-made in the United States of America. Other buyers may or may not care about this. br>br>However, it also comes with instructions (which aren't difficult, but if you don't get grease out the end, there's probably a simple and easy reason for that). It also includes a schematic drawing as well as a parts list. Replacement parts (as well as auxiliary nozzles/hoses) are available in the event that you need to repair it at some point. Also, if you need assistance (which is unlikely), you can contact them.

Dualco uses the tag line "100% Recyclable Tag Line"100% Recyclable Tag Line"100% Recyclable Tag Line"100% Recyclable Tag Line"100 It's fixable. " Today's world is full of throw-away culture. I find it refreshing to be transported to another world.

The grease gun is a good size
5/5

I bought this dualco grease gun to help me work on my bikes, and I couldn't be happier with it. The key to using this grease gun is to make sure the grease container is completely full of air bubbles. You should be fine if you follow the instructions that came with the grease gun. Once it's loaded properly, the grease comes out quickly and in a controlled manner. I just finished repacking the bearings for three sets of pedals with this gun, and it was a simple and mess-free process. free. If you're buying grease at the same time as this, the Motorex 2000 grease tub comes with a plastic insert that makes loading the grease gun a breeze - For more information, visit the Motorex website and watch the video. br>br>I don't think you can screw a tube of grease to this grease gun. I meant to double-check before loading the grease gun, but I forgot. I'm not sure if the less expensive grease guns will work with tubes, but I know the Park Tool grease gun will. This grease gun was neither the cheapest nor the most expensive, but it served its purpose well. I would definitely recommend this to friends because it is well-made and appears to last a long time.

PERFECT for those hard-to-reach locations! I saw the garage door service guy use one of these to grease the pinch points, mini wheels, track, and ball bearings on our garage doors around this time last year
4/5

When I asked him where he got it, he told me it was from Amazon. As a result, I did my homework. This year, I also ordered the better tip, grease, and gloves and did it myself. I was able to do the job myself because of the money I saved. I'll give you one piece of advice, which may seem obvious to some. 1) Adhere to the rules. While hand packing the grease, make sure to "tap" down any loose bits. Take your time and do things correctly, and you'll be rewarded with a steady stream of grease where you want it. 2) Make sure the gun is fully loaded and greased when it is warm enough. The "extra long tip" that I ordered separately was extremely helpful in getting to those difficult-to-reach areas.

Micro Grease Gun is excellent
5/5

What a fantastic micro grease gun you've got there! Small projects will benefit greatly from this. It works well in a vacuum, but even better when the follower is under pressure. I removed the stainless steel spring from a 2-inch pop-up lawn sprinkler. I then threaded the spring through the keyhole into the grease gun; It raises the follower, and all you need to do now is grease it before screwing it all together.
