Start by placing a small suction cup or plunger down to test it first. You can't make it work if you don't get a firm grip on it. My floor is smooth, but I could not get this to stick.
With a handle of about 4 inches in length, it's quite a bit bigger than a pencil. The space is hollow about two inches on either side, but there is a bar in the middle (an obstruction), so it isn't hollow from top to bottom.

I wanted to cry the idea of tearing up the whole floor. As I already had a mallet, I did not need to buy this one. I saw similar products in sets, but I only really needed this one. My scraped floor was not a problem with my attachment, it worked flawlessly. concerned because some reviewers said the floor had to be completely flat for it to work! My cracks are no more! I got a good, solid knock, but the damage is done.
I had floating floors that I needed fixed. Thanks!.
I was able to use it even with a scraped laminate.
I bought it for that reason. It was necessary to try and fix separation in my flooring. The suction does not hold it to the floor. I wouldn't even call it close to that. The joke is on me and I can't believe I bought it! This is not an item you should buy. There is no point in doing it.
The laminate planks were separating so I bought this to fix them. I was really impressed with how well it worked, the suction was great, and it was Although I wish I had gotten one the suction cups were more compact. Overall, I am happy with the purchase.
This was purchased and used to install vinyl plank flooring in our house. In my case, the joint on my floor separated. The suction cup tool was placed on the plank, and a rubber mallet was used to strike it. (I learned that this is frequently done. ) I was happy with the result.
The suction didn't work!.
I tried using suction cups but they failed to hold and they broke when I applied light pressure.
