It's possible that there will be some wobble. This is something I ordered for my husband to use with his Harbor Freight DA polisher. He read some other reviews about how straight (wobble-free) it was compared to the stock HF pad, and concluded that we must have received a defective pad. The stock pad wobbles less than the Lake Country pad. See the video for more information. We could have saved $20 and put it towards something else. br>br>Aug 18, 2018 Update: So we're pleased to report that Lake Country has rectified the situation by sending us a replacement. It's exactly how it's described and what you'd expect. There is no wobble, and it fits perfectly on the HF DA. Thank you very much, Lake Country. I gave it four stars because the inconvenience of receiving a defective item and having to initiate a return/replacement was too much for me, but they made it right, so we're good.
This little guy gets five out of five stars. br>br>I used it to polish and buff my headlights, and it worked perfectly! I'll use my Harbor Freight special polisher to apply some drops to the 3" foam pad and rub them in, then dab the pad on the headlight before turning it on. Set the light to 2 and evenly distribute the compound. Then turn it up to 4 or 5, start polishing, and get that sucker nice and clean to a scratch-free condition. the sheen is reduced This is something you should have in your detailing kit. br>br>.
This 3" backing plate was used to convert a Harbor Freight 6" DA polisher. The plate's tensile strength is exceptional. It's the perfect balance of firmness and flexibility. I can tell it's a very high-quality product. br>br>For those who don't know, Regular velcro vs. micro velcro is used on some backing plates. Micro velcro is used on the back of this backing plate. It's one of the reasons why this plate doesn't destroy pads the way other plates do.
I purchased two of these, and they are exactly as shown. I used this backing plate in conjunction with the Porter- The Chemical Guys and the Cable 7424XP DA Polisher 5. Pads are 5 inches long and come in three colors: orange, white, and black, as well as a pad cleaner. The backing plate did exactly what it was supposed to do: it held the pads in place perfectly and I had no issues with it. I've never used a polisher or pads to compound, polish, or wax my vehicles before, and I'll never do it that way again! This equipment combination performed admirably, and my Tahoe now appears to be in better shape than ever before. The backing plate performed admirably and appears to be brand new. I bought a second one as a backup in case the first wasn't strong enough, but I've never used it and, based on appearances, won't need it for a long time. I'd buy it again in a heartbeat.
Several of us were given the inferior substituted product, which was a cheap piece of junk with no spindle in the middle. To make this work, you'll need an adapter, and the quality isn't even close to what's shown in the picture. This is something you should avoid!.
goes above and beyond expectations Works great, and I'm very pleased with the design quality as a first-time user of this type of equipment. I did some research before purchasing, and this pad far exceeds my expectations as a daily driver and boat owner. Without a doubt, this will last a long time. It's always tempting to try detailing a car with electrical tools, but with a little research and the right equipment, it's possible and safe. I bought an orbital DA polisher, and the pad that came with it was nowhere near as good as this Lake Country pad. Auto detailing is made easier by the pad's consistency and quality.
This is something I bought for my Porter. Because it lacks the power to run a 6in pad, you'll need to use a cable to convert it to a 3in polisher. And it fits and functions perfectly without any washer modifications. In the short time that I've had it, I've used it several times and have had no problems.
For years, I owned the original. For over a hundred restorations, it proved to be completely reliable. It just blew up one day, huh? Another reviewer who had a similar experience blamed the Texas heat on the situation. For me, that was a simple calculation. It was like a light bulb went off in my head. My father worked in New York, Virginia, and Arizona before passing away. When it's 117 degrees outside, the shop feels like it's 125 degrees inside. After use, I'll take my new one out and put it in the Laundry Room cabinet. I don't see why this one wouldn't provide me with the same level of dependable service and longevity if I take that precaution. I'm sure I'd still have the original if I hadn't considered the heat.
