The density of this pad is higher than that of the red one. As a result, it does not absorb as much product as the red. Polishing with a black pad and waxing with a red pad.
depending on the abrasive and the pressure used I hope this information is useful.
This is a little too small for a 7" backing pad; a 6" backing pad would be better. If you have a 7", you may damage your car by hitting the edge of the backing pad. These pads, on the other hand, are excellent.
Black will suffice, but you'll need to pair it with a fine abrasion cream.
Selected User Reviews For Griot's Garage 11274 3" Black Foam Finishing Pads (Set of 3)
I should have known better because I had previously been disappointed with Griot's Garage products, despite the fact that they had good reviews and I needed some small pads for door jams and other tight spaces. The pads aren't any better, which is disappointing. It is not my level of experience because I have been detailing cars for a long time. My previous experience with Griot's Garage products was with their 5' Buffer and Pad set, which left a haze and hologram effect that took some time to correct. I had to return it because the pads sunk in the middle and began to separate from the velcro, in other words, they were garbage. Even with Pad Conditioner, the foam pads have very little cutting power and heat up quickly due to their dense flat surface. Griot's products will never be purchased again by me.
These pads are fine; however, I find Griot's customer service to be lacking. One of these black pads appears to have detached from the back velcro. It's not a major issue. I just emailed them my receipt for $175 worth of Griot's products (8 weeks ago), all purchased on Amazon, as well as a photo of the broken pad. requesting that they simply mail me a replacement They contacted me the next day and requested that I package it, mail it back, use their Return Label, and so on. It was a pointless 20-minute exercise (and a cost to me of return shipping) that could have been avoided, but it turned out to be a positive experience. "We're sorry, a new one is on its way," they said graciously. It makes me nervous to think about what would happen if the (expensive) buffing machine failed. Groits, you should be ashamed of yourself; your company deserves better.
I purchased these to polish the headlights of my Subi and discovered that the black pads are far too soft for polishing out the 2000 sandpaper I used previously. polish. They did, however, do an excellent job of gripping the lake country hook and loop pad I was using and performed exactly as I had hoped. I'll get some of the orange pads next time so I can get some cutting action. However, as a finishing stage pad, I strongly recommend these.
The fabric is soft and absorbent. "I'm not an expert in paint correction or automotive detailing," I'll start by saying. "br>br>With that in mind, I've used these pads to polish and detail three cars so far, and they've performed admirably each time; I used Meguiar's M205 polishing compound with them, and it performed admirably, especially considering I'm a complete novice at this. They were relatively easy to clean afterward, and they adhered well to the DA pad adapter. br>br> Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase and would make another one.
With the Griot's Random Orbiter, I applied my product with the orange pad and then buff it out with the black. Using the orbiter, I was able to remove tar and grease splotches with ease, and the black pad made my car look brand new. It held up well, and the beveled edge was a nice bonus because it got into crevices in my wheels. I'm pleased with the purchase, and this was my first Griot's pad after using 3M previously, which also held up well.
I bought these to use with an orbital buffer, and they work great in general, but for the price, I was hoping for a little more. They appear to be exactly what they claim to be, and they've performed admirably in the various applications I've used them for.
With Griot's Garage products, you can't go wrong. These pads aren't cheap, but they're well worth the money! They're well-made, and my experience with these foam pads has been that they last a long time and never fall apart, so I HIGHLY recommend them.
