If the vehicle you use to tow your boat does not have a reverse camera, then yes, they are very useful. Not only when you're hooking up the boat trailer's tongue, but also when backing it down the ramp. If you're looking to put it on a boat, I'm not sure it's a good idea. I'm not sure I'd trust it to be completely submerged, though.
The actual viewing screen measures 31/2" high by 61/2" wide with a 7-inch diagonal measurement.
Before contacting tech support or the seller, make sure the power is turned on.

This camera was ordered to be mounted on the back of my 30' trailer so that I could see who was following me on the highway and to help with blind spots when backing up. The monitor, an antenna, a license plate camera, a windshield mount for the monitor, various cables and connection accessories (not shown in my photo), and a well-written owner's manual in fairly good English were all included in the box. The owner's manual is printed on high-quality coated paper, which came in handy when it was soaked in a Florida downpour. It was as good as new after I hung it up to dry. The monitor is surprisingly thin, measuring no more than the thickness of a cell phone. The monitor and windshield mount are both held together by a powerful magnet, making the monitor extremely easy to remove when parked and/or not in use. br>br>The monitor connects to your vehicle's cigarette lighter or any other standard accessory plug. The camera will require power, even though it is truly wireless. Connecting it to your license plate lights will accomplish this, but it will only turn on when the lights are turned on. It could also be connected to any circuit in the vehicle that is active at all times when the vehicle is running. Power will be required for all wireless backup cameras. This isn't unique to this unit, so when ordering a backup camera, think about where you'll get power from. br>br>Because the unit is wireless, I expected the image to cut in and out and freeze from time to time, but this never happened. The image is clearly high definition, bright, and streams full motion steadily and continuously at all speeds (see my video in this review). br>br>I've used the camera at night (it has excellent night vision) and it has survived torrential downpours with no issues. br>br>Overall, I think this unit is of exceptional build quality, and it performs admirably. More importantly, the advantages and sense of security and safety that it provides make it well worth the investment. I'm a very satisfied client.
I own a 15-year-old Yukon and am always concerned that I won't see someone when backing up, so I conducted extensive research before settling on this camera and monitor. br>br>The installation was straightforward, and the good news is that you can test the system in your car before installing it. This was ideal for me because the first unit had failed. When I contacted the company, I received prompt and courteous service, and the replacement unit arrived within a few days. As you can see, it functions flawlessly. br>br>I'm very pleased with my new camera and monitor, and I'm glad I got it.
The monitor that comes with this camera is quite nice. I wasn't sure if it was too big at first, but with the mount that comes with it, it fits perfectly against my windshield. The camera is easily mounted behind the license plate and connected to the lights' power supply. To use the backup camera, you must turn on the running lights, but I prefer this to running a separate power wire and then turning on and off the monitor. For a backup camera, the image quality is excellent and the video is extremely smooth. I'm thinking about getting another one to put on the front of my Jeep to keep an eye out for rocks!.
I put it on a Ford F-150. 150 The picture is bright and clear in color, and it is simple to install. The signal is very strong. It also allows for the installation of a second camera, which is useful when towing a trailer. The big display appeals to me.
I primarily desired a camera for my Ford F150 to aid in the alignment of my trailer hitch ball with a trailer. After reading a lot of reviews for different products, I decided on the Amtifo AM- W70. This kit includes a 7-inch monitor that plugs into your cigarette lighter, as well as a license plate camera that connects to a reverse light with ease. A reverse light has two small clips that are used to connect the two wires. In about 30 minutes, you can have this thing fully functional. They include a link to a YouTube video that demonstrates how to test the unit before hooking it up, as well as how the clips work. The camera bracket is concealed behind the license plate, leaving only the camera at the plate's top center. Simply disconnect the tail light and connect the red and black wires on the reverse light to positive and negative, then tuck the wires behind the bumper/under the vehicle. The monitor is powered by a button on the cigarette lighter plug. The image appears on the monitor as soon as you reverse the vehicle. There is no jumping in this image, and it is very clear. It's a real-time image that's very smooth. On the image, there are guide lines that can be adjusted for your vehicle's width, and they can also be turned off. You can change the brightness, contrast, and saturation of the image, as well as flip it. The signal is extremely strong, and I'm driving a Ford F150 crew cab. (Some wireless backup cameras aren't compatible with long vehicles. ) The camera can be adjusted up or down, and even when adjusted all the way down to see the trailer ball, you still have a great view of everything behind the vehicle. I was fiddling with the guide lines when I accidentally hit the pairing function, which resulted in the loss of my image. I was unable to re-set the camera or monitor. They're paired with one another. I emailed Amtifo using the customer service email address provided in the manual, and they responded quickly with detailed instructions on how to resolve my issue, which worked perfectly. I'm very pleased with the response from customer service! This camera performs admirably and is ideal for my needs. The price was great thanks to Amazon's coupon discount. In two days, I received it.
