Questions & Answers

How big of a fuse should the cigaret lighter plug have when wiring the monitor? Jimmy, please accept my heartfelt gratitude. ?

I didn't use a fuse because I didn't think it was necessary. I did not use my backup light wire; instead, I turned on the camera by pressing the button on the cigarette lighter socket. This allowed me to keep an eye on my trailer as I drove.

How do you get in touch with Emmako to get a free window suction cup for your 7-inch monitor?

[email protected] is an email address that you can use to get in touch with me. com. Send them an email with your product number and Amazon purchase number, and they'll send it to you right away!

Is the camera switched on all of the time? Is it true that the monitor only turns on when you're in reverse?

This system can be set to work continuously or only in reverse mode. This system only requires a single power wire; if the system is powered by a cigarette lighter, it will remain on at all times. The system will only turn on in reverse if it is powered by reverse lights. You can see the diagram in the images.br>We also sell a car charger power adapter for this kit, which has a turn on/off switch. If you need one, please contact us at [email protected]. com

What is the length of the cable connecting the camera and the monitor? Is it possible to make it longer if necessary?

The cable is approximately 23 feet long. More than that is possible. It ran from the back of my SUV all the way up to my dash board, where my cigarette lighter sits snugly with plenty of extra cable. It was very simple to set up, and I like that you can turn it on and off with a push of a button on the cigarette lighter plug, rather than just when in reverse. It's unclear whether or not it can be extended. It wasn't necessary for me to do so. The cable is long enough to accommodate both my full-size SUV and my wife's minivan, with plenty of room to spare. I hope this has been of assistance.

All of them are appealing to me
4/5

I own two of these camera kits, as well as a third from the same company that is a "wireless" version that connects to a screen in a rear-view mirror. look in the mirror All of them appeal to me, and I believe they are well worth the money (note that I did not say "cheap"). To me, low-cost denotes low-quality. (The wireless one is a little more "finicky," and may flicker for a few seconds when in reverse, and has picked up other wireless signals at random, but I still like it and think it works well. ) I've postponed my review until I've had a chance to use it and evaluate it. There hasn't been anything wrong with the function or operation so far. For your viewing pleasure, I've included some photos and a short video. Allow me to give you my overall feedback before I break down the review into Pros and Cons: I've been driving cars and trucks for a long time without cameras, and I've never backed into anything or anyone. So, why did you get the camera in the first place? Because it has the potential to make a significant difference. Take a look at the photos I took of a child riding his trike behind my van at night. Without the camera, there's no way I'd have noticed that. So far, this has proven to be very effective, and I am pleased with the results. Advantages: br>br> br>Works great at night, almost as if it were day. br>Good displaybr>Does what it says on the tin. br>Mostly easy to install (mostly - (See "Cons" below. )br>Inexpensivebr>Has performed admirably thus far. br>Comes equipped with a distance meter - This worked fine for me, but there is one quirk: the lines don't move on the screen, so if the camera is pointed higher up, they don't align or work properly. The camera must be pointed in the right direction. I recommend experimenting and fine-tuning until you find the right balance. Cons: br>Clear videobr>br> br>Some of the wires in the kit are extremely thin. I believe it would be far better if they provided a larger gauge wire. br>The wiring on this is a little strange (at least in my mind). The yellow video VGA style plug has a red "flier" wire on both sides, and I'm an experienced Electronics Technician who works with stuff like this all the time. I thought they were wired together, but they aren't. Why not connect this flier wire to your reverse light signal wire once, near your reverse lights/license plate, and tie the other end into the same signal wire, but up by your dashboard, where it is easier (usually) to get to, and run that signal along or inside the VGA wire that has to go up there anyway? That is precisely what I have done. I ran some extra wire from the "flier" wire in the back of my vehicle all the way up to the front, where it's plugged into the monitor, and used it to connect to both the opposite end "flier" wire and the monitor's power supply. Maybe I'll make a schematic and post it here later, but doing it that way made a lot more sense to me, so I did it that way, and it works great. br>br>And that's all there is to it. Simple, straightforward, low-cost, and practical. Is there anything else you might require?.

I bought it for my pickup truck because it didn't come with a backup camera
5/5

The screen has excellent clarity, and installation was simple. The backup guidelines are a nice bonus that I didn't expect. The screen fits perfectly on the sun visor, so it doesn't take up too much space on the dashboard; we simply flip the visor down when we need it. The product was delivered quickly and in good condition. I'd suggest it.

On a Massey Ferguson tractor, it works perfectly! My MF4707 tractor is equipped with a backup camera
5/5

So far, it appears to be working perfectly, and I am glad I purchased it. Depending on what I'm doing, I've been able to use the camera in the front or back of my cab tractor to get a better view of the ground. When I'm driving in reverse, it allows me to see what's going on behind me without having to constantly look back or into my rearview mirrors. I've also used it in front of my tractor when sitting my pastures and fields to ensure that I don't hit any wild life, such as fawns, who will simply sit there if you don't see them, and you know what happens next. Anyway, I like the setup and would recommend it to anyone looking for additional viewing options because it works well. br>After I have it permanently mounted, I'll post some photos. Wiring is also simple, and I'm using a 12v cigarette lighter extension that I purchased on Amazon as well. When I want it on, I simply plug it in, and when I don't, I simply unplug it. It's that simple.

Amazing!   I was astounded! What a fantastic camera! I was surprised by how well this works for such a low price
5/5

The camera is attached to the license plate's top two bolts. The camera was powered by the reverse lights, and the monitor was powered by my dome/accessory lights. When I put my van in reverse, I also have it set up to switch from the DVD player in Video 1 to the Backup Camera in Video 2. This unit gives me a lot more peace of mind when I'm backing up. They must now be installed in all newer cars, trucks, and vans sold in the United States. It's an excellent safety feature!.
