This is incorrect, as you correctly point out. You may want to look up See the 30 amp RV connector wiring diagram to see how it should be wired.
Male plug is shown in the picture. My message was delivered like that.
There is no 220 volts on this plug, only 125 volts
In the case of an RV with two air conditioners you cannot do that. If your RV only has one air conditioner, you should use the green, black, white, and neutral wires, the 30 amp wire works just fine. The worst thing that will happen is you will trip the breaker.

A few things to know about this plug it's good quality, but it has a couple of shortcomings. If you want to wiring the plug correctly, make sure you use the wiring diagram that comes with the plug (not the wiring diagram in the Amazon ad because it is completely wrong) and not the one pictured in the Amazon ad (the seller should correct it). In addition, the three connectors are loose and can fall out when you open the plug for the first time. In comparison with the hot and neutral connectors, the ground connectors are somewhat different. Make sure they are all plugged back in their proper spots or else you won't be able to use the computer.
The plug on my old RV extension cord had a loose fit on the female side. I used the cord for a week last summer and the electricity arched and left the plug discolored and somewhat melted. I don't like this! It has been repaired and is operating as good as new now that I replaced the plug! This one has a tight fit, the case is heavy, and I like the loop to pull it apart. I'll buy a second one and the male counterpart so that I can keep my surge protector in the RV and plug into shore power with my newly made extension cord.
Specifically, a lighter 12AWG or not too strongly insulated 10AWG will work well. Because I was using a heavily insulated 10AWG, 250VAC cable, I was unable to adapt the u-clip to It was iffy to turn the wire ends this connector requires, and it has a lower reliability rating than others. Thus, a different brand (Conntek) has been substituted. It may be a good idea to allow some extra length on the wire ends before making the connection, and then to trim the extra off on the other side. alarming discovery was that when I removed this connector to replace it, I found that the previously tight screw connections had loosened during installation of the back-up battery. I assume that the cover is the highest quality Many reviewers have reported failures due to overheating, so I suspect that may be the reason.
I am going to go from one end of the country to another interviewing Spanish speakers, so I had to replace an old one that Due to the low price, I was hesitant to get it. It was affordable but I didn't want something that was a bargain in terms of My surprise was however unexpected. Considering it's less than $9, you can't go wrong with it. It's sturdy, very solid, and you're not going to regret it. Due to the fact that I am a newbie to RVing, I'm unsure if the grip is a standard feature, but the RV I replaced did not have one. One of my favorite things to have is a dog! For now, I rate this product as A++! I'll update if anything changes, but for now, it's an.
It has really straightforward instructions and the inside of the plug as well as the outside is also labeled, making it very easy to put together. The cable features a weather seal around the handle as well as around the cable. It is my opinion that this plug will outlast the camper after it has been in service for a decade. Was I not clear about how clearly labelled it is? The reason I wanted to revisit it is because of that. Despite the fact that the installation is relatively simple, weekend electricians should not attempt it. The product appears to be quality, with user friendly features like a handle/loop, a weather seal, and instructions that are easy to understand. If you follow these basic rules, there are no mistakes!.
It fit the 0. 01 studs easily. My generator connects to the cable through a 7" connector. If you wish to solder to the pins (as I did) you may remove them while the connector is disassembled Using plastic as an alternative would definitely result in it melting. The pins of the pinboard are separated by a screw - be sure to note this when disassembling It is vital that you do this step, or you won't be able to remove the plug.
The screws are sturdy and the brass contacts are thick, so I was able to use a large amount of torque for a good connection. The ground was my least favorite aspect of the trip. Due to the thin brass that is used, the wire spread out when the screw was torqued down, which in turn caused the sheet metal to spread. In order to bend it back, I had to bend it.
This is a great price compared to the local store that charges twice as much.
