br>br>Full disclosure: I bought this knowing full well that our site isn't ideal, but I was hoping that it would at the very least slow the drain and extend the battery's life between charges. br>br>Our security camera is installed in the front of our home. There is a dog park across the street, and many dogs and their humans walk by. Street traffic, bus activity, and sidewalk activity are all captured by the camera. Quite occupied. br>br>The battery life, which is advertised as one year, was only slightly more than a month for us. I suppose I could reduce the sensitivity and add block zones, but wouldn't that defeat the purpose of having a security camera? br>br>Unfortunately, the camera is also mounted in a difficult-to-reach location that necessitates using a ladder and enlisting the assistance of someone to hold the ladder for me. Another unfortunate aspect is that it is located on the north side of our house, which receives no direct sunlight. It's not in the shade, and while it gets some indirect light throughout the day, it never gets direct sunlight. br>br>I ordered this in the hopes of charging it with indirect light in the best case scenario - It would, at the very least, slow down the battery's depletion. br>br>During the first few late-night sessions, It did exactly that over the winter weeks. It slowed the drain of the battery so it only drained about 1% per day. br>br>On rare occasions, it would even add a small charge to the battery. Extrapolating this calculation to 1% drain per day, I estimated that in the worst case scenario, I would now need to charge the camera every 100 days instead of the prior 1% br>br>On the 24th of January, I installed the panel. The charge was 100% at that time. The battery did not charge in February, but the drain slowed and it was 74% in mid March. Recently, in late March, the battery level has either remained constant or even increased by a percent every couple of days. The charge reached 100% on April 25. The level has never fallen below 100% as of late June. The panel is exposed to direct sunlight for several hours each day, based on how the sun has moved in the sky. br>br>I'm guessing it'll be strong during the summer, then fade to a slow drain during the fall and winter. Even if it just slows down the drain as the days get shorter later in the year, it's still better than it was before the solar panel, so I'm happy and satisfied. br>br>Whatever the case may be, I am thrilled with this product because it keeps me from having to climb a ladder to take it down and manually charge it.

Just a heads up: the mount is made entirely of aluminum and is quite fragile; the threaded portion of the mount snapped off in the back of the panel as I tried to tighten it. Now I have to wait for a replacement for a week.

The Eufy logo can be found on this solar panel. Although it claims to charge all Eufy cameras, this is only partially true. I purchased two panels and placed them in the same location and orientation. Both panels are facing south, where they receive plenty of direct sunlight throughout the day. One only charges my camera to full capacity, while the other tries to charge it (the charging icon indicates that it is charging during daylight hours) but never manages to do so. charge. The charger (in the app) should be set to solar, according to the instructions. That doesn't seem to help, and if it does, it appears to slowly drain the battery. The charging icon in the battery mode (app) indicates that charging is active; as I previously stated, one worked and the other did not. When I contacted Tech Support, they informed me that a new firmware would be released soon to address the problem. It's been a while, and there hasn't been any notification of a firmware update that I'm aware of. In the meantime, the panel that was not working has stopped working completely, indicating that no charging is taking place. The camera's battery is running low, so I'll wait until it's completely dead before plugging it into a USB charger to recharge it. So, while the solar panel claims to work with Eufy cameras, this isn't entirely accurate. So, if you're looking to buy something, be cautious! I can no longer return the panel for a refund because it has been too long since then. br>br>The panel is well-made and presented. Eufy's standard of fit and form has been met. The function, on the other hand, requires improvement! In the box, you'll find an installation manual as well as the necessary hardware.

I'm not sure what's going on, but my camera was recording everything before I added the solar panel, and once I added the panel, it recorded correctly with the zones I'd set up WHILE IT WAS BEING CHARGED WHEN THE SUN WAS OUT. Other things were occasionally recorded, but for the most part, the zone was captured. It's why I bought the solar panel because my camera just recorded everything and after 2 weeks it was at 15% battery left. It was also strange because when I first tested the panel by simply plugging it in to see if it worked, it worked fine; I then installed it and it charged that day; however, the next day it did not charge; however, the third day it charged again. Every day I get charged about 2010 which is fine because I only lose a few percent with all the things it captures on this busy road. I'm not sure about the wire's length; it's quite long, but they should at least provide us with options. I could have placed it where I wanted it if I had just a few more feet, but it's a little short, so I would have preferred a really short wire and placed it next to the camera, but if I did that with the current wire, I would have had to wrap it around the panel arm, which would be unsightly. So, while this panel works and does not lose charge like some off-brand models, the next panel version should include removable wires so you can choose the length you require.

First and foremost, I think that the Eufy camera systems are fantastic. Better yet, their customer service is outstanding, with prompt responses to questions. br>The solar panels are the cherry on top. My batteries were 60% when installed
3 days later 100% and maintain a full 100% every day
