The only reason I would use one is if I was plugged in all the time. If my phone is plugged in when I am packing for a trip, I would not waste the money on it. Since I have been camping in an RV for 40 years, I have never used a surge protector

A dogbone adapter for RVs isn't the same as any other

The receptacle on some dogbone RV adapters is round and bulky. However, not all electrical posts in storage units are designed to accept this socket. Through trial and error, I learned this type (a straight blade/two prong plug) allows the plug to be connected to almost anything that has a post. It's also of good quality.
