The information I was looking for is exactly what I wanted. To connect to the twist-lock connector I used to drag out my heavy cable, then I had a 50 to 30 amp adapter and a 30 to 15 adapter, which I kept under my camper and then ran a small gauge extension cord from the camper.
Do not use anything but lights and It is great to use when you just need to charge your batteries or use lights on an RV. It's not necessary to set up the heavy 50 amp extension cord, I can plug in a lighter extension cord. Be careful, keep the power consumption to 15 amps or less. Because this adapter only provides 20 amps, it should not be used to run an AC, electric water heater or other items simultaneously. I occasionally run my refrigerator, but I make sure to use a #10 gauge extension cord as well, and turn off all the other devices before doing so. The outdoor outlets I have have #12 ga wire it is heavier and less restrictive than lighter wires like 14 or 16 ga wires. I have attached a photograph of a wire gage scale from 0 to 12. Generally speaking, the smaller the number on the wire, the heavier it is.
My new RV runs with 50 amp service, so I purchased this adapter. My first RV has a 50 amp service, and I do not know whether the electrical connector can be repositioned or if all 50 amp RV connections are oriented the same way. The only thing I know is if I tried to use it, the female end of the 30 amp extension cable, the male contacts on the adapter, or both, would be damaged. A typical "dog bone" style adapter was what I ended up purchasing.
Whenever my camper is not in use, I leave it hooked up to 110v power in the driveway. It will keep the refrigerator powered and cold at all times I am able to work on slides and maintain a lot of things with the product.
I found it to be very convenient as it screws right into the 50 amp trailer If I were to improve it, the only thing I would have needed to do was to include a weatherproof shroud to cover the 110v outlet, which was easy for me to do.
Usually, I connect this to my 50A camper converter so I can plug into a 120V standard empowers me to use a 120V extension cord rather than a 50A cord. My Magnum Inverter/Charger allows me to set the maximum shore power current, so I chose 15A, and let my 4KW hybrid inverter handle the rest.
There is an on/off switch and a screw on connector, as said by others. The price is reasonable and I am happy with it. There are a couple of things I'm uncomfortable with with this connector, including its screw on design. Though the twist lock portion holds it so well, it doesn't seem to be an issue. A 2017 Genesis toy hauler is equipped with this system.
I found this purchase to be excellent. Rather than deal with the cumbersome, heavy 50 amp 50A cable when the trailer is parked at my house or at the campsite with only the basic 110 volt power, I can use a heavy duty extension cord. This book is well worth your money!.
The generator and trailer that came with this were bought together. I found the price to be reasonable. As a result, it takes less room than some other options. Appearance appears to be of high quality. The trailer plug is compatible with this product. I have not yet used it. Then I'll have to wait till spring to give it a try. I will update this review once I have tried it out.
