The adapter I use to drain a rolling tank at a dump station does not have a female to female connection, so I'm not sure if they make a female to female part.
The standard RV sewer hose is 3" in diameter, so yes, it will work. The one I have was about the same as the one I measured. The product can be purchased from Amazon, Camping World, and RV dealers.
Couplers connect the hooks on the claw hook together depending on which claw hook is used. 40540 is the Amazon part number. There is a claw hook on both ends of the hose and waste tank and they will not connect. I wish you success.
The cost is high! Even so, it is likely that what you need will be found elsewhere when you can't find it elsewhere. The system works flawlessly. It does not leak.

Often we empty our trailer holding tanks with our Thetford SmartTotes however, we had always been disappointed with the fact that the hose could not be put It allows us to connect the hose for the tote tank right into the drain, by connecting it to our clear blade end that goes right Although the adapter easily fitted and tightened into the Valterra blade end that goes into the drain, it is actually just too big for the hose end, so although we will be able to use it, it has not been able to be tightened It was amusing to find out that the Thetford adapter fitted a Valterra hose better than the Thetford SmartTote hose that is supposed to fit.
It is necessary to have this if you intend to use the drain funnel with a Thetford waste tank. There is no reason why you should have to buy this separately from Thetford. The rhino tanks are better and come with all of the attachments for a much lower price.
Despite the fact that my popup trailer has a 1 1/2" gray water pipe, the black water pipe is 3". The hose for both will be the same, so I plan on stowing them all in the 4" tube of the range. In order to get it to work properly, I had to purchase four adapters. Fortunately, this was the last one to flip the connection, so I didn't have to turn the hose after the black water drain. It's a piece of pvc, but it worked as intended and doesn't leak, so I'm glad I got it.
The fact that this product is made is incredible. I must have this with my portable disposable waste tote since it is a blue boy. The reason I need it is because my short tank hose has female couplers on both ends, which prevents me from using my 90o elbow into the RV toilet. Keeping the hose in place when dumping is made easier with the clear elbow. My experience with waste accidents is none. If I can avoid it, I won't have a waste accident. There is nothing more to say than the title. There is a small piece of plastic between two hose sections of an RV sewer system that serves as a coupler. Although we searched high and low for an alternative product or vendor that was more reasonably priced, none could be found.
It works but has difficulty disconnecting. A hose wrench cannot be used to remove the fitting since there is nothing on it you can grab.
