I had no idea the rings were rotating. When you try to attach it with only two hands, it may appear to be a useful feature. It appears that four people are required, as two people are required to hold and turn the hose. two to keep the rotating ring in place on one end, and two to keep it in place on the other. In this case, I also had to use a two-handed strike. The quality appears to be a bit on the iffy side, but perhaps that is because the rings rotate, making it appear flimsy and cheap, but the main "Y" unit appears to be of decent quality, as the two of us couldn't get it to go by hand; also, the quality seems to be a bit on the iffy side, but perhaps that is because the rings rotate, making it appear flimsy and cheap, but the main "Y" unit appears to be of decent Only time will tell if this is true. I can't say I'd recommend this item because the rotating rings make it even more difficult to attach, so I'm giving it three stars. In the future, we'll see how easy it is to disassemble, and I'll update my review with a better (or worse) rating.
This was purchased for my RV, which has a dual Grey/Black water tank as well as a separate Grey water tank. I'm connecting all of the Valterra adapters/hoses, but the connection with the rotating bayonet fitting is a little looser than I'd like, and it easily disconnects if I fiddle with it too much. It didn't leak when it was connected, so connect it and forget about it.
Because our toy hauler has two sewer connections, I received two Valterra sewer black hoses. The two hoses should be connected to the WYE "Y" connector, but they aren't. I tried for 20 minutes to get it to connect, but they simply do not fit properly and align to connect. I assumed this would be a no-brainer because all of the connectors were made by the same manufacturer, but I will have to return them. It's simply not worth my time to spend 20 minutes trying to connect a hose that should only take a few seconds to connect, and the prospect of it falling off while the sewer line is dumping isn't something I want to deal with! It's a huge pain!.
The black water and rear grey water tanks share a drain, while the front grey water tank has its own. This was ideal for simultaneously connecting both drains to the sewer.
This is where the poop water collects. It didn't leak at all. It was a little difficult to put together, or maybe I'm just tired from sitting on the couch for so long.
I finally figured out how to clean my holding tanks. Thank you very much.
One of the small catches in the mail broke off, which is not a good start.
The Camco version has a much better design and is made of much heavier material.
