This is my second set of wastewater/sewer hoses; the first ones I purchased were several years ago and were not nearly as good as these. For our new fifth-wheel toy hauler, I needed a new set. The problem is that I was looking for a Y-connector set-up. To be able to empty both tank areas without having to remove and reattach the hose, set it up as follows. br>br>This kit is the most important part of my hook-up kit. I liked how the system connections are permanently attached to the hoses, as opposed to some others that can be removed and replaced. The hose ends also have a swivel system that allows you to get the right angle or turn without twisting it. For me, this is a nice touch and a plus. To reach both outlets at the same time, I added two 10-foot extensions to the Y connector. It turns out to be a fantastic solution. I added my hose leveling supports after the photo was taken, and everything drained perfectly. br>br>Many people are perplexed by the hoses' clear ends. How do you know when you're flushed clean if you don't have the clear end connections on your tank flushing system? After everything has been flushed, you can see the clean water running out. For me, this is a huge plus. Nobody tells you that you have to sit there and watch the blank tanks fill up. ) However, it's a good idea to double-check that the chemicals you're using are effective at breaking down organic matter and that the toilet paper is dissolving properly. br>br>The hose is sturdy, well-made, and thick-walled. There's also the fact that it's walled in, which is a plus. After trying about 4 or 5 other hose systems as an RVer for several years, this is the best quality one I've found so far. This is a set I strongly recommend. br>br>I noticed a question about why it says it takes a long time to deliver; I believe that is incorrect because I received mine in three days. 4 days after placing your order, just before the start of the week- end. As a result, there were no delays in my order. br>br>I was not required to write this review in any way. This is something I do in order to assist others in the Amazon community! Camco makes a good product, but the hose I received was defective the first time I used it!br>Of course, I'm past the return window on this sewer hose, so I'll have to buy another one! br>As you can see in the photos, one of the 10' hoses has a HUGE slit in it, and there's more damage on the other end of that same hose, as you can see in the other photos! Of course, I have to check the other 10' hose now, and what do I discover? Yep! More flaws, which I'm sure will result in a crappy disaster (pun intended)! br>It's obvious that this is a new hose, and the damaged areas were caused by the factory's gluing process, but I'm sure trying to get Camco to replace these hoses will be far more of a hassle than simply biting the bullet and buying a new sewer hose- And you can bet your bottom dollar that it will not be a Camco this time! br>I could accept it as a fluke if it was just one of the hoses that was malfunctioning, but both? I'm sure they weren't made at the same time, and with so many other people reporting the same problems, I'm guessing it's a case of poor quality control, as these are easily visible flaws! br>Thank you, Camco; I won't be buying any more of your products for my RV! Every RVer dreads having to clean up black water at a dump station, and when it happens due to a cheaply-built RV, it's a nightmare. When word gets out about a poorly made product, that company will be the one to bear the brunt of the consequences!.
"Why would you buy one with a clear elbow?" everyone who saw my hose wondered. "At the end of the day, I like that I can see that I'm flushing clear water down the drain and that I know exactly when I'm done. The hose is a little stiff, and there's no way it'll stretch to 20 feet, but I knew that going in based on the other reviews. The included caps and connector piece are fantastic; they make things so much easier and more sanitary. Everything is in perfect working order and is extremely safe. This is a product that I HIGHLY recommend!.
This item is labeled as a 2-in-1 product. Each section is 10 feet long. I had both sections attached, but it snapped before I reached the 10-foot mark. It's a good thing I did a practice run with it before taking it on a trip, because otherwise I would have A) been caught with my pants down and B) not been able to return it. The quality is extremely poor.
I believe the accordion sections became stuck together and ripped holes when they were pulled apart, which is something that should never happen. I asked for a replacement, and after three more trips, the second one is still holding up. We'll have to wait and see how long it lasts. br>br>UPDATE: br>br> The replacement hose has FAILED after 5 trips, with the same type of holes! This hose is NOT something I would recommend! I am obsessive about keeping everything in working order, including this hose. It's rinsed and dried properly, and it's always resting on a slinky at events. It is never used in an inappropriate manner. It's not like this is a difficult task. At the very least, these hoses should last you an entire camping season!.
When we bought our camper, we were given this product as a recommendation. Unbeknownst to us, the diameter of the bumper is just a smidge larger than the diameter of the bumper, making easy storage impossible. We also had to be cautious when emptying the tanks because the easy locking system is prone to breaking (thankfully, we discovered this with the grey tank rather than the black). It received three stars because it completed the task at hand. However, I would not buy it again.
The fittings are snug and secure, and the clear see-through section is a nice feature that eliminates any guesswork about whether or not everything is out of your tanks. I've only needed the other ten feet of hose a few times in the past, which is one of the reasons I bought this kit in the first place. You'll enjoy it if you buy it.
Excellent product; we are RV campers, and one of these is a must-have. We like the clear in cap because it allows us to see when the tanks have been completely flushed. When we're completely empty and ready to flush, we look for clear running water. It's simple to use, clean, and store when you're done.
