It's not just the foundation. I transferred my porcelain bowl from the old base to the new base and applied a new seal.
Yes, it had everything I needed for installation (at least my copy did).
I'm not sure what I'm saying. The best course of action is to contact Thetford, determine what base you require, and then place an Amazon order for it. It is significantly less expensive than flying from Thetford.

My tiolet had been acting up since day one, and the dealer and thetford recommended putting silicone grease on the seal, which worked for about two weeks before it started hanging up and refusing to close. (That's what it's been doing since day one). Last fall, I dismantled it and installed new silicone grease-coated seals. Approximately 6 weeks passed during this period. I was about to purchase a new toilet when I came across this replacement part. I purchased it and installed it, and it works perfectly. Tip for installation: When twisting the new piece into place, everyone complains about how difficult it is to install it. I had no problems doing it before, but the new piece has brand new tabs. I had the same issue, but once I figured out what was going on, I applied a small amount of silicone grease to each tab, had my wife hold it, and it went a lot smoother.
The base assembly had a leak, and it needed to be replaced. It was a plus to be able to purchase a base assembly that was completely new. The money was well spent. Tip: When putting it together and installing it in the RV, silicone plumber's grease is your best friend. On the left, you can see the new base that was delivered.
a source of assistance Hello to all! So, when the flush handle on my old RV toilet broke, this product appeared to be the solution, and it was! With the exception of attaching the bowl to the base, everything went according to plan. To begin with, I had to place the base over the bolts so that I could twist them hard, but it would not fully engage the tabs and thus would not align with the bolt holes in the base. I discovered that the tabs were fairly flexible, and that bending them slightly allowed the bowl to engage all four tabs. However, the hole in the base did not line up perfectly with the bowl for some reason. But I got the bolts in, and that was the only thing that mattered. So everything appears to be in order! ) Best of luck!.
Why do I need four slides to mate when there are only two bolts in the back section? All that's needed to keep it together are two islides in the front, one alignment point, and two bolts. The flushing foot pedal, on the other hand, works perfectly, and any parts that fail can be ordered. Just be careful not to overtighten the water supply, as this will strip the threads. br>For its parts availability and water-saving flushes, I give this Thetford toilet five stars.
Purchase a new sprayer that does not require seals. Easy to install, and after consulting with Thetford, this base was found to be suitable. I emailed Thetford to confirm that 42137 would work with my older 42105 model. I was considering purchasing a new toilet, but after reading the reviews and questions, I discovered that it came with a plastic bowl. It's made of clay. I considered the Dometic 320, but I couldn't tell if it included a hand sprayer. For your information, this base does not include a hand sprayer, but it does include the necessary connections to connect my old one. I dislike Amazon because it changes seller reviews and deletes them when you leave a bad review. It's almost as if the Review Process has lost its meaning. I don't care for Prime, so I paid for shipping and tax, for a total of $94. It also has a floor. Ball Seal, as well as new hardware. My only criticism is that the product description does not specify what is and is not included. This should be enough to convince you that you require a replacement hand sprayer. Ball and Floor Seals and Hardware are also included, so you won't need them.
This is not compatible with the Aqua Magic 2 porcelain top. The four locking tabs are at least 1/8" short, and the screws that hold the top in place are a full 1/4" too wide, so only one screw fits at a time. I had to heat the tabs to get them to move enough to fit, and I had to force fit with one screw only because my base inlet was stripped and couldn't be reused. I'll have to work until I can afford to purchase the genuine part.
You can do it if my husband did it! This purchase has made us extremely happy. Our motorhome's toilet had a leak. We couldn't find any replacement parts that worked, and getting a new porcelain toilet was out of the question. We finally decided to give this base a try, and it solved all of our problems; we are very happy with our purchase. It only took about an hour to complete the installation.
This is an exact replacement for the toilet base that came with our RV. Although I agree with the other reviewer that the design could be improved, I'm glad to see this on Amazon. Thetford wants to charge shipping and is asking for an extra $20. Working on my hands and knees to replace the part was a real pain. The twisting on of the new base was the most difficult part. It took two people to twist the bowl, with one holding the base and the other twisting it.
