Questions & Answers
It's made of a hard clear plastic that's probably not the most durable. If dropped, it might crack or break.
This is a fixed fitting that does not rotate.
Yes, it should be possible because both of the items in question are manufactured by Valterra!
Yes, it is possible. That's precisely what I'm doing with my clear view fittings.

This clear fitting is required if you have a trailer or RV and are emptying the black and gray tanks. It will save you time and water while also ensuring that all of the waste in your black tank has been removed. By being able to SEE what is flowing through it, you will be able to tell if it is clean. The freshwater hose connection on our trailer allows you to flush out the black tank. I close the drain valve a few times to allow it to fill up, then open it and observe what comes out. I'll know I'm done when the water is clear and free of debris. After camping, this isn't my favorite job, but it's a lot easier and faster now.
This was the best solution for a poop hose that could have been devised. It's priceless to be able to "see" that the poop, tissue, and other waste is flushed out rather than relying on guesswork with a standard "no see through" fitting. A RECOMMENDATION: br>br> After you've installed the clear fitting, check for leaks by opening and closing the grey tank for a few seconds. No leaks? if that's the case, then go ahead and open the black tank valve and enjoy the ride! That way, if there's a leak, it'll only be dirty grey water rather than poop water, which is gross! You'll be surprised at how many times you'll flush your tank and still see poop. This thing is as constipating as it gets, LOL! Is it possible that I used the word "poop" too many times? LOL Thank you for watching!.
It's difficult to route the sewer hose to the black and gray tank fitting in the wet bay of my 2018 Dutch Star through the port hole in the bottom of the wet bay because standard hose fittings jut out just past the port hole, so I have to loop the hose around, then pull it through the port hole underneath the connector. br>br>This elbow is the perfect size; it allows me to rotate my entire valve assembly and connector fitting up and down a few inches. This elbow can be attached to the connector fitting, pointed straight down, and rotated back down until it is perfectly centered in the port hole. The sewer hose can then be connected from below - There are no longer any tight loops in the sewer hose, allowing my tanks to drain more efficiently.
This is a good product, and you can't really go wrong with it. It is either effective or ineffective. It's effective in this instance. You can clearly see what's in your emptying tanks, and nothing appears to be staining or clouding the view. It appears to be just as thick as standard waste plumbing, so I expect it to last a long time. After use, a simple hose-down is all that's required. This is easily cleaned with a flusher and a bleach wipe. I chose the 45o angle over the 90o angle because I thought it would be more practical than pointing the drain straight down. It performs admirably. This is a product that I would recommend.
I realized I wasn't cleaning the tank thoroughly enough after receiving this. I now always dump it once, then add water to the tank and dump it again, because the clear adapter allows me to see what I missed the first time. Ideally, you would rinse and dump the tank until it is spotless, but that isn't always possible. At the very least, you'll be able to tell when you're on the right track with this! br>br>It's simple to use and see through, and it's made of good thick plastic.
The camco one rotates and swivels, but reviews indicate that it leaks, so I chose this one because it is one piece and will not leak. True, but I was expecting it to twist to the left, right, or down, but it doesn't! If you're connecting to a flexible hose, it shouldn't matter, but I'm replacing my flexible hose with rigid PVC sewer pipe, so it won't work. I have a small flexible segment that I'll keep, but be warned: it's 90 degrees, but it's pointing in a random direction.
" Since 2001, we've been traveling full-time in a motor home. Our current bus model is a 45-foot bus. The use of the Clear adapter has a number of benefits. It will allow you to see when the flushing process has cleared your tank (water running clear) and will keep you from closing your dump valve too soon. Many times, closing it early results in tissue paper being caught or jammed into the valve as you close it, shortening the valve's life; it also improves seeing when the tank is clean, indicating that your tank's internal sensors have been properly cleaned. It isn't necessary to take it away. We simply replace the close/end cap and, due to the high quality of the Valterra product, have never had a leak down the road. We also use our masserator (grinder) in conjunction with this adapter on occasion. The process of changing hoses is as simple as twisting on and twisting off. It is critical not to leave any waste in the grinder to harden if you want your masserator to work properly. The T1023 helps to ensure that it is also "all Clear. ".
It's a great concept, but it's not long-lasting. I've bought two of these, and neither of them has lasted more than a few months without one of the small fittings breaking. I wish the fittings were made of metal or something more durable, and the contents could be seen through a small clear view window. To be fair, it had to withstand the heat of Florida and was used to connect my travel trailer to my septic tank via a flojet macerator and pump. For my purposes, I simply require something more durable.
