Questions & Answers
If you're filling a water tank with a hose connected to the motorhome's connection, there should be an air vent right next to it.
Without seeing the previous one, it's impossible to say. They are, however, fairly standard.
No, there isn't a flow regulator built into it. It's simply a better-quality alternative to the all-plastic city water connectors that many RVs come equipped with.
Yes, I'm hooked up to Pex, and it's fantastic. Every three years, you should change this guy. This part is worn, so you'll hear the water pump go off for 5 seconds every hour.

While we renovate our home, we are living in an RV. Our heated hose broke, causing the inlet on our RV to freeze and break. This unit was replaced because it was made of metal, and it was thought to be more durable. Oops. It was taken directly from the box to the RV. I worked as a supervisor for years in the RV industry and know how to build them from beginning to end, so there was no installer error. The check valve was defective from the start or had been installed incorrectly. Water began to trickle into the RV after I connected it. For the past week, the temperature has been below zero. up to the present day I assumed a line in the unit was frozen, so we stayed in a hotel for 5 days, ate out for all meals, and spent a lot of money that could have gone toward home repairs or even needed auto repairs (lower ball joint failing on a daily basis, truck needs new glow plug harness, etc. ). Nope. Everything was a waste of time. Because it was 33 degrees this morning, I tried to break up the clot by flushing the system with scalding hot water, but it didn't work. Finally, I dismantled the fitting to see if the old one had thrown a piece of plastic into the PEX because the problem was clearly mechanical. When I removed it, it was clear that the spring-loaded check valve had been crammed in sideways. I removed everything and reinstalled it, restoring full pressure. Wow, wow, wow, wow, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, garbage that is completely new.
I received a male valve, which did not work. I dashed to Camping World, where I discovered that the same item was also available in a female version. I took a photo that included the part numbers.
br>The white rubber flap/plug holds dirt. br>The installation went smoothly, and the water pressure is maintained. Finger smudges are a common occurrence. br>The white has changed to a brown/black color. br>I didn't think my hands were filthy, but this thing is a magnet for dirt.
A check valve is included in these. The internal check valve on my original fitting had broken and was leaking every time I removed the hose. In minutes, a new valve was installed, and it works perfectly.
but. Much better than the factory part, with brass connections rather than plastic ones. Still. The included cap is identical to the original, but the sun and weather will deteriorate it over time. This is true of any caps or covers on exterior items, and while you'd think they'd fix the problem, they'd rather you replace them on a regular basis.
So much more durable than the original city water inlet flange, which was made entirely of plastic. It actually broke because of this. In the Texas heat, plastic does not hold up well. This was a breeze to put together, and I'm confident it will outlast the previous one!.
The unit arrived filthy and with a leak, indicating that it was built poorly. This is a complete waste of time. Now that I've cut a hole in my boat, I'll have to look for another with similar dimensions.
