Questions & Answers

Is it possible for the filter to become contaminated from lack of use between trips if left untouched for a long period of time and still damp inside?

Filters like these are traps, and bacteria can grow quickly in an environment that is warm, dark, and damp. It is necessary to disinfect even the holding water tank when it is being stored. This type of filter is unusual because it is usually clear or transparent allowing the end user to see how it is functioning.

The plastic taste from my new hose will be eliminated with this?

I found it to be effective. A filter that is installed at the camper end of the hose is better than one that is installed at the spigot end of the hose. An additional commenter doubted that the filter makes any difference. It's been a while since I left my old town and moved to a town with the most disgusting water I've ever smelled An interior of a hot dumpster combined with really strong waterbed chemicals might sound like the inside of a waterbed. Even after I dried and fabric softened my clean and dried laundry, it remained in the air. I don't know how the people of the town didn't riot. I was able to remove all the unpleasantness instantly and completely with this filter. The company must be doing at least some of what they claim! It is absolutely certain that I would have figured out how to install this filter in the washing machine in the main house, had I stayed for more than four months. If you're going to be staying in Fairland, Oklahoma anytime soon, do yourself a favor and keep one of these filters handy.

What are the steps to install this? meant to be installed "permanently" in the RV or is it just meant to be used at the end of the garden hose when filling it?

Outside, either at the source of your water supply (that is where mine is) or at the place where the hose connects to the camper itself. It should be noted that, regardless of what you choose to do, you should not attach the water line to the camper until after the filter has been run to remove the carbon. The process takes about a minute and a half. Using this filter, you can get the same quality water as from

What would be the best way to keep this going Can you tell me the term for an outdoor water fountain in the United States?

Up to 500 gallons can be filtered with this filter. Please call us at 800 if you have any questions.

This filter is awesome! It is no longer necessary to drink nasty campground water
5/5

Since I have used them for years in my RV, I am very happy with their performance. I have some more in-depth information for you I have some thoughts to share The pros are Please note *br* I was pleasantly surprised at how well they worked. The hoses can be hooked up to the tank, the water hose can be attached to the tank, the water pump run to your trailer, and voilà* clean, tasty I would not feed my worst enemy some of the water we have seen in some of the places we've visited. I really like the taste of it when it has this attached. Please note *br* There is an attached hose that I like because it provides flexibility to the system and does not put too much strain on it. There are so many of these that now I use one to attach the filter to the nozzle, one to attach my hose to the trailer, and another to attach my hose to my A few notes Please note *br* In addition, I noticed that the manufacturer recommends using them only for one camping season. I completely understand that. My system seems to work just fine, and I have no problems maintaining it. You don't need to replace them every season since they're not too expensive. Please note *br* Note that when first putting this filter into service this season (only the first time, subsequent hook-ups, It won't be UPS) there will be a lot of black carbon (black in the water) that comes out of the faucet. There is no problem with this, it is perfectly safe, and there is no problem. In this case, the carbon is coming out of the system as the filter gets to work. As long as this doesn't pose a health risk, there will be no health concerns. It just takes a few runs of the faucet to clear it up, and then we're good to go for the remainder Please note *br* As a last note, when we unhook from our camping spot, I swing the filter in my hand with my arms extended (using centrifugal force, not centrifugal force, look it up) to remove the residual water, in order to prevent the water from spoiling. This method is followed until I get most of the water drops to stop, then I let it dry on the counter, and then I'm good to go again. Please note *br* We have not noticed any issues with this filter. Generally speaking, it is able to take care of some really nasty campsite water we've encountered anywhere in the southwest. It is impossible for me to recommend it more highly. What if I lose the purification of my water? When I purchased this, I wanted to have a spotless rinse while cleaning cars, but was surprised to see how well it performed
3/5

It didn't work out, to put it simply. The following are the steps I took during my test As soon as I received it, I attached it to my water spigot and i purged the filter As I filled glass 1 with filtered water, I rinsed the glass and filled it again. Using glass 2, I filled glass 1 with tap water again before removing the filter. A review of three areas has been conducted The ADVANCED VISUAL 1) Water from taps and water filtered through a carbon filter both appeared clear with no 2) TASTE PASS

In the filtered water, there were slight differences in taste, but they did not detract much from the water TDS metering 1) Difficult - A VERY RARE PASS. To measure purity, I bought a meter which measures total dissolved solids. If you drink tap water, you should The 100-word limit A 400ppm value would be 100 The following is the composition of distilled No ppm). The tap water I was using measured 402 parts per million, but the filtered water measured 442 parts per million! In what sense? What is the difference between the filtered and unfiltered water? There is likely to have been harmless excess sediment released by the carbon filter which led to the higher TDS rating. There appears to be a design limitation to these carbon filters, which only eliminate non-TDS solids (ex converting gross well and hose water into drinkable As a whole You still may be able to use them to turn clean hose water into something more palatable for RVs, but not to make a spotless sink or toilet You can rinse for free. ) Rinse. The only alternatives will likely be either triple osmosis or distilled if you are looking for that type of solution.

It is decent to have spare O rings with the filter
5/5

My latest update is 12/2020
I've used these for years and have a tip to share. If you are about to throw out your filter, make sure not to forget to take the o ring out. My screened over door was plugged during a recent trip, so I had to take it out After removing the ring from the water regulator, I damaged it, so I needed a new one, but did not The screened washer needs to be removed using a small flat head screwdriver when throwing this filter away. Flip it on its side and remove the washer with the flat head screwdriver. The inlet to your city water system and water pressure regulator (if you have one) depend on them, so having a spare (especially one as cheap as this one) is a very good idea. Review of the original manuscript I am happy to take photos or provide more details if you have any questions. Leave a comment if you require any further information. Having used this for one camping season in my RV, I can report no issues. I suggest keeping a few extra Hose O rings packed just in case one gets lost.

After losing one on the first trip of the season, I had to use a spare to be able to hook up at the campground. Please follow the instructions and run water through it for about a minute or two to remove all the carbon dust. In the beginning, the water will initially appear very black until the dust is cleared I use a 15 quart tote with a latching lid for storage. The container allows me to store my 25' clean water hose apart and protected from anything that could harm them both. My PSI regulator and Y adapter are also stored in this I just open the tote when I get home, prop up the filter in the tote to help drain the water, and then simply pour the water onto the ground when I am finished

Things I have set up for my camp are This RV is for you. A right angle adapter should be used There is a water hose attached to the hose The filter should be Intended use of the PSI regulator adapter is as follows The Y adapter is at the end of the hose After that, you will see a spigot on the site. In addition to the fact that this photo is not the best one I could have taken of the setup, the fact that a family of deer was in the background also played a role in my choice. As I am traveling RV, I have a "Travel RV Tool Kit" packed just in case I need to use the spring adapter. The only concern I have is durability in the event of a drop. As it would be heavier with water still inside, I believe there would be a greater chance of the water cracking during removal than during attachment. The next time I need another product like this, I will purchase it again.
