Questions & Answers

Is this machine capable of giving you a vertical lift of 100 ft at 100 feet?

The hose was 50 feet long, 3/4" in diameter. It is not a problem to lift 6' vertically.

Can you use a garden hose with this? Do you need to adapt it for this?

The inlet of this pump is a garden hose, and the outlet is a 1" barbed hose. In order to use a garden hose on the outlet, you would need to adapt the

This pump turns on automatically, but how does it do that?

In my case, I plug it into a 12 volt jumper cable. I broke one of the clips that secure the pump to the outlet pipe when I connected it to the cigarette lighter adapter. Although the pump works great, I broke one of the 4 wire clips that secure it to the

A 1" id hose to hook onto the quick release pump on the RV macerator is not available for purchase. How many gallons per minute do you have with 12v?

With the quick release connection, you can attach a regular garden hose to the macerator so that you can back flush the unit (clean it). One inch ID hose can be bought from Lowe's or Home Depot, or from a hardware store. As a result, I bought two clamps and fittings which I used to convert my one foot hose into I send my black water and grey water up about a 6' incline inside the garden hose with a 3/4" id, then up 125' to the

In a nutshell, I used it to empty the three RV tanks on 17 March 2018. It's not fast, but it got the job done. There are 54 gallons in each tank. I added a short piece of 1" ID clear hose with fittings to attach a standard garden hose to the discharge barb so that it can be connected to a 1" hose barb. In the photo (see above) you can clearly see what is coming out of the pump through the clear tube. A clear 3" sewer connection was also available on my RV between the pump and the connection point. In addition to examining what went into the pump and how it flowed, that fitting was useful for observing what was going into the pump. As I mentioned, I was using 100 feet of garden hose (50 feet of 5/8" and 50 feet of 3/4") and the hose was pointing uphill 3 feet prior to the discharge. For a pump of this size, the flow was good. A 3" slide gate valve is located on the sewer discharge of my RV where my hose connects. As soon as the tanks were empty and the macerator pump and garden hoses needed to be flushed, this valve served as a handy convenience. Turning on the water supply to the macerator pump and closing the slide gate valve connected to the pump allowed me to turn on the water supply to the pump. So, water was fed directly into the pump suction line to help clean and flush both the pump and the hose as it was fed directly into the suction line. I finished with a water flush and the pump and hoses are as clean as they could be without any odor left behind. The next day, after I was done emptying the tanks and after everything was cleaned up and put away, I removed the head from the pump so I could see what it was made of. A con I spotted was that the gasket that seals between the pump and the inlet housing is nothing more than a piece of It was expected that the material would be rubber or plastic. There was water in the paper gasket all the way through, and leaking was also noted when the pump was running. *UPDATE* As of 24 July 2018, we are no longer at the campsite where we stayed for the last month because the sewer dump was too far from where the stinky slinky had to go. Thus, I needed to rely on this macerator pump to empty my tanks for a whole month. I mentioned before that it's not a speed demon, but it works nicely. Due to the fact that I have used it so frequently, I have learned that if two clear 90 degree elbows are used back to back, the tanks empty better and the pump is less likely to run out of oil Pumps installed at the same elevation as the outlet connection will not flood the pump's well with a small flow that comes after the tank has reached its empty state. Whenever the flow starts to taper off as the tank empties, the flow does not flood the pump well. The two 90 degree elbows lower the pump's relative position to the outlet, and the pump is able to eliminate the low flow at the end as a result.

If we didn't have to run to the hardware stores to get it to work, it would have been a 5 star review! While the cost of the materials is less than $10, the time of having to run around getting everything was much more valuable. Likes Pumps like this one are without competition in terms of quality and cost. I am highly impressed with the pump. It moves a lot in a short amount of time, considering that I am using a 3/4" garden hose as the pumping channel. Designed for those who have no easy access to a dump station at home or where they do not have a close proximity I dislike that it does not come with a garden hose adapter for use as It is also mentioned elsewhere that the parts need to make it functional for cheaply are available here, but it isn't It's likely that 99 percent of people will use a garden hose type connection. There is no hose barb on the 1" hose! In a boat application, maybe a 1" hose connection is needed, but this pump is rated for RV use, which implies that a 3/4" garden hose connection is mandatory. What do they stand to gain from selling it this way? Another thing that I didn't care for was the included cigarette lighter type power adapter, but I suppose that this is standard. Instead, I ran a dedicated fused 10 gauge power line back to the dump. Plugging in a standard SAE 12V battery tender type plug in place of the cigarette lighter plugged into the frame and grounding the plug to the frame was all that was needed. With the dump just a few feet away, now I can plug it in. Additionally, I added a connector to my emergency air compressor in case it had to be plugged in as well since it was already close to my tires. Here are two items that are necessary to make this work with a garden hose (output end). A 1 in. Everbilt. The dimensions of this product are 3/4 x 11/16 A plastic hose barb adapter that attaches to a MIP product. The model number for this item is Home Depot sells this item. Please note that 1 inch is 1 inch in depth. One and a half Five sixteenths of an inch. The area of the table is 10 x 10 feet. A BRAIDED Vinyl Tube made from Clear PVC 6" is the minimum size needed. It is available at most hardware stores by the foot. The following are some translations A third of an inch. Materials stainless steel Clamps made from steel to hold worm gears in place. Secondly, consider the following number 2 It can be purchased from any hardware store or auto part retailer. * * Instructions Attach the included 1" hose barb connection with a worm gear clamp, then slip the 1" id Vinyl Braided Hose over it. (Get only the PVC braided vinyl type, NOT the clear stuff otherwise you'll have a very bad day! Do not pick up the plain vinyl stuff, or you will take a nasty bath. It is not meant to be put under any If you're looking for 1" PVC braid, HD does not sell it by the foot, so you'll have to go somewhere else. The Hose barb adapter should be inserted into the other end of the hose and secured with the second With the hose in place, it's now ready to use with any standard garden hose, but if possible, use one with a 3/4-inch inside diameter.
