This water heater is already installed in my 6 gallon Suburban, so I'm not sure whether it is or not. I have lengthened it a bit, but it fits perfectly and functions just like the original.
A total of 10 dimensions are measured overall. This is the fifth point.
It seems they use this model as their standard model, but they also have shorter ones for water tanks with smaller capacity. The one I have is 12 gallons

I don't understand why others have problems with it. During the process of replacing this element in my travel trailer, I discovered that it was defective. photos I posted show the old and new Elements, as well as a rod I used In the picture, you can see that the new element is longer than the old one, but the rod represents the depth of the tank. Therefore, a longer Element will not cause any problems. Although I know there are many questions about the longer element, it does a good job. It also takes a thin wall socket 1 1/2 inches tall to remove and install this item. The gas line needs to be moved as well in order to access the element. If you are going to work on this, make sure you unplug the trailer, turn off the breaker, and release the water pressure beforehand. Good luck and stay safe on this project, so I think that covers everything.
The electric element of the Suburban water heater from Universal. The fit and operation were perfect. Everything is as it should be! It came with new ECO and Tstat as well as the ECO/Tstat cover, which had been damaged over the years. Those of you who own a Suburban water heater can get this heating element. This heater is universally compatible with most Suburban heaters with 120 volt options. Prior to testing the element, check the ECO/Tstat limit switches to ensure continuity. Specifically, in my case, the heating element shorted at the bend and caused the 20 amp 120 volt circuit breaker for the coach to blow immediately before the wire for the ECO system also fried.
As you can see, it's an easy replacement with the tool you can get here on amazon. Just make sure you have some Teflon tape on hand as This water heater is a direct replacement for a suburban 6 gallon rv water heater. Everything seems to be working correctly and I am guessing it will keep working for a while. In addition to this, replace the anode rod at the same time, as this will help keep the element in good working order. I wish you a happy camping experience!.
I removed a 520789 part that is identical to the part I removed. Initially I bought a Camco water heater wrench with it, but that didn't work out, too short and too loose fitting to get the torque I needed. As a result, I ended up using a 1 1/2" socket on a breaker bar to complete the job.
The original version seemed to work better after I installed the copy, but after running it for about two hours, it didn't seem to. Taking it camping because we thought it just needed more running time, we took it for a run. During that week, we ran it non-stop. As soon as the first day was over, the water was incredibly hot when I went to take a shower. A great deal of success was achieved with this element across It's a great product that I highly recommend.
This one is a great replacement and works just as well as the original. My 2020 Grand Design Solitude has a Suburban water heater with a capacity of 12 gallons. I recommend a full flush out if you intend on replacing this component. While the power is out and the water is off, you might as well do that. It may be necessary for you to buy the large socket so you can remove the old elements. You can find them at Lowe's and on It is easy to.
When I forgot to turn off the electricity, I drained the water from the low point lines, drained the water, and then apparently Two of these were purchased and one was installed, bringing hot water back to my home. That's what they do. I would like to know what else you would like to know.
Getting the propane line out of the way was the most challenging part of the installation. Adding the element to a website was quite I love it!.
