The fact that this was supposed to be replaced once a year in my travel trailer is timely information for me. As a result of the old one being totally gone, this one could be easily replaced. If you have an impure tank filled with calcium and sediment, be sure to use the sprayer nozzle to clean it out. It makes the job much easier. I removed the old one and installed the new one. The old one is in the picture.
If the hot water heater had not shown signs of needing a few repairs, I never would have discovered the importance of this anode rod. The more I learn, the older I get! I'm in my 60s and learning something new every day. I was able to make DIY videos thanks to YouTube.

The water heater in my RV is the one I bought. There was almost no way to catch the threads. It was only a matter of time before the anode rod sucked in more deeply. It took about half of the threads to finish the job. But doesn't seem to work for me.
Anode rods, such as this one, have been good performers for the year I've had them. I am satisfied with the solution as long as it extends the life of the water heater. It is likely I will continue to order this type going forward.
It would have been nice to have two of these if they had had more, since I always have one as a backup. It should also be longer lasting than a typical anode since the material is more durable. Due to the fact that I have not used the water heater since installing the item, I cannot speak to that.
