The Atwood Hot Water Heaters (in our 2006 Weekend Warrior 3305 5th Wheel) are a weak link for saving the hot water on our dry camping trip in the Nevada Desert. These are the best alternative to the Atwood units. The fusible links will pop, so you replace the fusible link portion and ((presto)), then your HWH works again and your wife is happy again. You can have a happy life if you have a happy wife! Keeping a few spares is a good idea. Having insurance is a good idea. I don't recommend you bridge it with a piece of wire, though, since it can get dangerous.
The cover came off, I googled the part number, ordered it off Amazon, got it two days later, took it out of its package, fitted it, hit the hot water heater switch, and I was ready to start. A voice boomed. I was able to start it immediately. It arrives just as it looks in the picture, which is a nice touch. There are two switches & two sockets There should always be a backup wire in case the wire you are currently using is damaged. I found it to be very useful!.
The Atwood water heater I have is an older model that was not cooperating with me. In order to diagnose the issue, I did a number of Google searches and watched several YouTube videos. As well as a new thermostat, the Thermal Cutoff switch was ordered. The installation took me less than 10 minutes for all three I found the instructions for this item to be clear and concise. As soon as I flipped the switch, the heater came on. Thanks for a great product. Oh, and it comes with two Thermal Cutoff relays and two new connectors.
I had a problem with my water heater during my first trip of the season. The track was located at the cut off switch. As soon as we got home from the airport, I went to Amazon and ordered the item. The unit would have been covered by ATWOOD's warranty, but my only option would have been to bring it to a service center. They would tell me it was the cut-off switch. Instead of taking the time to go to the mall, I just bought a pair and now I have a spare.
Ultimately, I isolated the problem to this part and was glad and not annoyed once I understood why it had happened. It turned out that an insect had built a nest in the burner tube of the water heater, and when the gas turned on, it blocked the tube, causing flames to shoot out all over the water heater except where they should have come out! Thus, the original part did its job and opened up from the heat of the flames, cutting off the gas supply and saving us from major damage, as well as The device is one of the most important safety devices and once it gives its life to keep you and your RV safe you will not want to give in to the temptation to.
You do not want to run out of hot water when you are using your RV!.
I suddenly lost the ability to heat my RV water. There is a product on a RV forum that I found that really works! The product was delivered quickly, it was easy to install, it was cheap, and it worked perfectly. In case of future failures, I have at least one spare. I give it a 5+!.
However, we would have been overkill for our unit. Please take note! The following thermal cut-outs will be useful for A shielded thermal coupling is included in the Off Kit. Our motorhome only uses one thermal cutoff coupler, so the directions included as part of the package were incorrect for my Attwood 10 gallon hot water heater. I now have a spare, since our unit only uses one It would be necessary to use a special connector for the loose end, which is why the extra cable would be useless.
