You can use the item for a replacement on a camper. The length of the gas line is not clear to me, but I installed it on a camper and there was plenty of line. Hope this is helpful.

Purchasing this product was a replacement for a heater which had a shorted pilot that went out after heating up. It was an exact match for my heater. Try to study the existing and plan ahead not to bend the copper pipes too much since they are fragile. It seemed short compared to what I had, but once I straightened it out it connected fine. Be careful not to bend the copper pipes too much since they are fragile. In my initial testing, there was a minor leak, which I corrected by making sure the pipe is at a right angle with the nut, tightening it, and then retesting for leaks.
The product was a direct replacement for one that was on the trailer. That's all there is to say about it. My hot water heater had been around for decades, so I was able to understand the instructions easily, but I broke the pilot tube after removing it because it was over twenty years old, and I had to replace a gas valve also.
