RV Camper Trailer 24" inch Dometic Refrigerator Side Wall Vent White 3109350.011

Our DW decided she wanted something new and white in place of an old, yellowed (but otherwise good shape) Dometic vent in our motorhome, so I ordered this to replace it. This vent appeared to be the exact same model as one I needed as a replacement, so I ordered it. This was in complete contrast to what had been expected. The vent was white, and the shape and hinges were almost identical to the old Dometic vent, but it hinged from the opposite side, and new holes had to be drilled instead of using the original mounting tabs, as seen in the third picture. This is a form of What was the purpose of installing it? I had initially thought I had ordered the wrong thing because I thought I had made a mistake. Instead of the kind with 7 mounting points that screw into tabs on the motorhome, I needed the kind with mounting holes around the perimeter. Since I purchased a cover with the seven mounting points, I didn't realize that I had already purchased the correct cover based on the description and pictures. It wasn't until I returned to Amazon that I realized that I not only purchased the correct cover, but also was what they promised. My purchase was the correct one, and that the incorrect one had not been purchased. As a result of warpage in the crappy molding process, after drilling these new holes and mounting the vent (I was just going to install it at this point since I thought it was my fault at this point), there was still a gap of about 1/32" at the leading edge. The model came with hidden holes in the side. I had no way of knowing this until I mounted it. What a flimsy, floppy mess we now have. And we drilled new holes into my RV, too. It appears that the replacement vent is made from awful, dimensionally unstable junk plastic that is quite similar to cheap PET, rather than original ABS that was in my old vent. A lot of time is wasted as the vent closes perfectly in one position but then starts to collapse under its own weight. However, I have to deal with the fact that my old stainless insect screens do not fit the new vent, and from what I can see, there is no pre-assembled model. These screen kits are made to do that. In other words, even if I could get them, it would still cost $30 or more Countless dollars wasted on this project, and the seller claims that a refund is only available if the product is returned in new condition, which of course it can't be since I didn't notice most of the flaws until after the installation was complete. This means the seller gets to keep my $45, but I'm out of luck. In order to keep insects out of my motorhome, I had to reinstall my old vent. My motorhome upgrade project could have easily cost me hundreds of dollars more than it does right now if I would have purchased parts from RecPro in the next few months. If they want to cancel the Amazon order, they only need to tell Amazon that what they show on that page cannot be delivered. Upon request, the seller provided an alternative mounting method, with a total different mounting method as the alternative. No, it is not It appeared that they could not accomplish the task due to its difficulty. They must have felt it was worth their time! I warn you DON'T GET CUT IN!.

It's awesome, the old cover came loose during a recent trip, so this new cover has a frame attached. The new frame was easy to install with just a little fresh caulking after the old frame was removed. There is a new look to everything now. Exactly what I needed.
