Questions & Answers

It will light up now and then, but it will not stay lit. The fuel is sufficient, and the ignition system is functional. Why is it so difficult to keep the light on?

It's because it's made to just light up. My husband, who works as a propane delivery man, taught me this the hard way.

What's the best way for me to turn it on? It worked for a while before abruptly ceasing to do so. ?

I've given it several tries and can't recall which button I pressed first, but it does light after a few attempts. When summer comes around, I always forget what I did right the first time, but trust me, it works.

Is it possible to remove the fuel if it has been installed incorrectly? Do the tiny screws need to be undone?

I wouldn't try to get rid of the fuel if I were you. There may be other lighters designed for this purpose, but this one does not appear to be one of them.

What is the best way to fill up your gas tank?

It's simple to refill if you have the right butane can/nozzle and follow the instructions carefully. I went to the hardware store with my Camco Gas Match. They didn't have the Ronson brand that Camco recommended, but any brand will suffice. The proprietor of the local hardware store I chose which of the two types of can nozzles appeared to be the most suitable. The Gas Match, on the other hand, refused to refuel; Butane has just been sprayed all over the place. I emailed Camco a photo of the nozzle and asked for assistance in refilling it. He stated that the nozzle should function properly. I finally got some assistance from a local propane dealer, who suggested the Gas Match for lighting our new fire bowl. He showed me a can with the correct nozzle (smaller) and it filled perfectly; I'll post a photo of the correct nozzle next to the one that doesn't work in the review. Then, when filling, make sure to view the fill hole by turning the Gas Match upside down. Down into the hole, point the butane can nozzle. The butane liquid entering the unit can be seen through a small window in the unit.

However, it is a nice unit
4/5

The Camco Olympian GM-100 was recommended by our propane dealer. For lighting our new fire bowl, we'll use 3X Gas Matches with Adjustable Flame. Once you've loaded it with butane, it'll work perfectly. However, the packaging's instructions are inadequate. Ronson butane is recommended, but any brand will suffice. I live in a rural area and was unable to locate Ronson, but was able to locate other brands. There were two types of nozzles on the butane cans, which was unfortunate. The hardware store guy and I thought the one with the larger nozzle would work after looking at the GAs Match. Even though the Camden representative said it should work (and I sent him a photo of what I had), it didn't. I finally figured out what type of nozzle to use. Look at the image below. You'll need the small plastic nozzle on the left-hand can. The right-hand can's metal nozzle isn't working - It simply squirts butane all over the place. br>br>In addition, the packaging contains very few instructions. So, once you've got the right butane can, here's what you do. The bottom of the Gas Match has a small hole in it. Keep the safety cap on the ignition tip and the safety locks on the top and bottom of the unit in place according to the instructions. To reveal the refill hole, turn the Gas Match upside down. In the refill hole, point the nozzle of the butane can downward. The butane is released when you press down. The Gas Match has a small window that allows you to see how much liquid is being discharged into it. Camco could improve their instructions on which type of butane can to use and how to refill it, as well as their customer service, but aside from that, the Camco Olympian GM-X is a great product. The long ignition wand on the 3X Gas Match with Adjustable Flame is ideal.

Except for the legal idiocy, it's fantastic
4/5

This appears to be a well-built unit that offers a 1. 5" non-stop (on "High") candle-blowing as an example, flame The sturdy "goose neck" has a 13-inch OA length and a 12-inch bendable length. A strong handle and a hanging bale are included. br>And now for the legal/engineering folly: To turn it on, you must press two buttons and move a slide forward, which is simple if you have three hands. Unfortunately, I learned how to do it in the following manner: (I am a right-handed person. )br>L HAND- The thumb advances the "ON" slide, while the index finger presses the bottom button in. Take a "pinch" and hold it. br>R Hand-Thumb turns on the light by pressing the top button. LEFT HAND may be removed after it has been lit. The flame is put out by releasing the top button (R HAND). Oh, and the "Danger" sticker on the back end (honestly) conceals the battery door. br>Perhaps Shakespeare's "Hamlet" character "Dick the Butcher" is correct.

This type of lighter appears to be of the highest quality
5/5

I've been relying on a low-cost, non-renewable source of energy. For my wood stove, I've been looking for a refillable long tip butane lighter, and I've been looking for a more durable version of the same product. After doing some research online and looking at other similar products on Amazon, I decided to give the Camco Gas match a try. Now that I've tried it, I believe I'll be very pleased with it. It's a little longer than I'd like (total length of 26"), but it's well-made and refillable. br>br>The Camco creates a spark that ignites the butane with a single AA battery. Others have complained about how difficult it is to use, but I find it to be much easier to use than my current low-cost, non-functioning system. Long-tip lighter that can be refilled. On my current lighter, you must pull back with your trigger finger while pressing a slider forward (hard!) with your thumb. I usually have to use two or three forward presses with my thumb to unlock the lock and pull back with my trigger finger. Overall, it's a major annoyance. With the Camco, you must also press a slider forward with your thumb, but the forward press is much easier and appears to work every time; no trigger pull is required. You have one button under your thumb, which appears to press down easily under the same thumb I'm using to press forward, and another button on the bottom side of the lighter, which you must press briefly with your trigger finger to light the flame. br>br>It goes without saying that no child, or even an adult who hasn't read the instructions, could pick up the Camco and accidentally light it.

The lighter is enormous
5/5

I don't think I need to say anything else. To light my old furness, I needed a huge, bendy, LONG lighter. The ones from Walmart were too short and didn't bend as much as I needed. This one is perfect, and I was blown away by it when I first saw it. What a colossal lighter this is! It's a colossal size! Also notable is the size of the flame. It's something that my husband enjoys using to light things up. You will, however, need to buy fuel. I didn't need to buy any because I already have a can for my zippos. Because I haven't had it long, I'm not sure how long the fuel will last.

What is your level of coordination? It does exactly what it says on the tin
4/5

However, it requires at least three hands to operate. You must press the lock button, as well as the gas and igniter start buttons. Doing all of that while trying to do something else with the other hand is extremely difficult. In general, I like it. The flame is appealing, and the fact that it can be refilled is an added bonus. Flexible to a fault. I use mine to light pilot lights, so the ability to be precise is essential. If it weren't for the tdst of light coordination. I'd give it five out of five stars.

Exceptionally safe and simple to use! The Camco Olympian is a great lighter if you need a long, flexible neck and a deep reach into your grill or fireplace
4/5

To light the flame, you must rotate not one, but two safety buttons. The requirement that both buttons be depressed while in use makes it extremely safe, but it also makes it more difficult to control without the flame suddenly going out. While activation with two rotated, depressed buttons appears reasonable, only one should be sufficient to keep the flame burning during use. On the other hand, I'm not ruling out the possibility that I'm still working on mastering the Olympian.
