Yes, it's a lot of light. Not intended for use as a running or brake light. Excellent replacement for halogen scare lights from the factory.
That is all you need if the previous light in your RV is powered by 12 volt DC power. To use the new light, simply connect the positive and negative wires.
Positive 12 volt DC is represented by red, while negative 12 volt DC is represented by black.
Yes, it's designed to be used outside. For nighttime gaming, I needed more light on the side of my motorhome. The led light with 600 lumens performs admirably. Of course, the light should be sealed at the point where it connects to the RV.

I purchased three of these, and one of them stopped working after a week. I assumed that because these were more expensive than other options available, they were of higher quality. Nope, it's just more of the same old Chinese nonsense. Of course, I didn t save any of the packaging for a return, so that is my fault. My advice is to buy the cheaper units, after all, how much worse We've become desensitized to Chinese garbage, so that 33% junk doesn't sound too bad anymore! ***Update: About a week after this post was published, the 2nd and 3rd purchased lights stopped working. Now it is 67% scrap, and it will only be a matter of time before the 3rd no longer works for 100% scrap. Because the third light is used less frequently, it could last up to two months!.
It wasn't LED either, and it wasn't very bright. br>br>Pictures 2 and 3 show the new light that was installed on the front, and photo 3 shows it at night. They are extremely bright, and light can be seen on the back of the RV. If you ask me, I'd recommend these plastic-based LED lights over powder-based LED lights. Metal was coated, but it only lasted a year. br>br>Easy two-wire installation; I taped the light to the side of the rv so I could work with two hands! There is no gasket because the holes matched up and I used a tube of silicone adhesive around the light. br>br>White light that is very bright!.
The insulation was adequate, but none of the lights I ordered for replacement or for my RV came with a foam seal or screws. The cheap plastic housing appears to be prone to water leakage.
Our 10-year-old Outback Lite camper's had rusted out and were no longer functional. I swapped these out in no time, the most difficult part being removing the old rusted screws. The light is extremely bright and looks great on the camper. Would suggest.
I received the light today and connected it to the RV, but nothing happened when I flipped the switch. I checked the wires and found that there was sufficient power, but the light would not turn on. I'm expecting a replacement, so fingers crossed it's not a dud! I'll edit this after I test the replacement and see if it works.
I'd like to apologize to this seller. It turned out that I had some bad wiring in my RV, which caused it to fail early. I decided to give it another shot for some reason. I checked the switch with my voltage meter, as well as the wiring that would connect to the light at the other end. That's when I realized there was a problem with the wire, so I cut and stripped off another inch and tested it. It did, so I soldered the wires, then applied heat to the heat shrink tubing. Because there isn't enough space between the RV and the back side of the light to hold wires connected with even the tiniest wiring nuts, you'll have to solder. This is why the four-star rating has been changed. br>br>Below this revised review, you'll find my original rant. If the unit fails again in the future, I will make the necessary changes to this report. br>br> This item arrived as expected. I took the item out of the box and began installing it right away. It was not difficult to connect the wires. I followed the instructions on the back of the unit when connecting the wires, and it worked fine with a nice, bright light. When the wires were connected with the provided wire nuts, the installation did not fit flush against the RV's side. More wire was stripped, and the two ends were tightly twisted and taped together. After affixing to the RV, I caulked around the perimeter of the unit and turned it on. Holes from the new unit were very close to original, and installing screws was not a problem, even if it wasn't perfect. The device failed about 10 minutes later. I don't know about you, but I'm sick of the cheap ass Chinese nonsense. I'd give this ZERO stars if I could! What a waste of time I've been wasting.
This was an excellent substitute for the old OEM lights. The old lights were incandescent, and the lenses had started to yellow. These new LED lights are slimmer and brighter than their predecessors. If there are any problems with water leaks or LED failure, I'll post an update. br>br>PS: If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "cre There is a "Top" indicator, so make sure the light is oriented correctly or you'll have to fix it later, as I did. It was particularly aggravating because I had already caulked the light (my fault).
It's fairly simple to set up, but the pre-installed software is a bit of The drilled holes did not match the existing light holes. The old ones had to be sealed. This light is incredibly powerful. If you live near your neighbors, it may be too bright. I have one on each side of our rig, and I can't imagine how much brighter it would be if they were both on the same side!.
