Despite the fact that it is as bright as most lights of this style and size, we found the Hummmmming noise to be extremely annoying! br>Having said that, be aware that the power leads are located at the very end of the unit, which can be a problem. br>br>Most, if not all, RV manufacturers. The access power hole for mounted lights is located in the (CENTER) of the previous light's mounting location. Because these are at the end, you'll need to stretch them to the center of the light's underbody in order to get the leads and wire nuts back into the existing hole. If you try to center the unit to the existing RV power supply holes, you will smash the wires. br>br>These lights sit flush to any surface. br>br>The only solution we found was to trim the plastic end inner cover and re-install it. The unit is spaced away from the mounting surface using nylon washers after the wires are routed. To complete a workable setup, it takes about an hour. br>br>Now, if the Humming doesn't reflect any defective light and the LEDs' lifespan matches the warranty period, we'll have to call it a day. br>br>Because the light now sits 1/4" away from the under cabinet side, we'll need to mask everything around it and apply white caulking to make it look more intentional. If you look inside the gap, you can see the wires that we taped to the lights' underbody, so it's not presentable. (Given the cost of these lights, all of this effort to install them was absurd. ) But that's the way things go on occasion. If you're still thinking about buying them, we hope you'll think about it. Thank you for your interest.
br>In fact, I purchased a much smaller version to do some trial and error with. I had no hesitation in purchasing the larger fixtures because the smaller one was also ridiculously bright. I had planned to put four of these in a 24 foot enclosed trailer at first. No way! Two of them are incomparably good.
The light is a nice bright white. I'm seeing clearly once more! I think they're a little pricey, but they're a good fixture, and I'd buy them again. I'm about to do the same thing, but in a larger size, and I'm going to use these to replace all of my RV lights. This purchase has made me very happy.
I opened it up, cut a hole in the plastic, and rerouted the wires to make them completely invisible. With a dremel, you can easily modify it. In my Travel Trailer Bathroom, I'm installing wires in the ceiling. Shrink tubing solder connectors were used to extend the wires to the skylight. In my travel trailer, I now have plenty of light to shave in front of the mirror. The operation at 12 volts produces a great deal of light. The LEDs were all turned on. Included is an on/off switch.
8 amps. The bright light it emits makes me very happy. Also, because I only had 1 1/2 inch to mount it in, it has a low profile. br>br>However, as a solar user, I am disappointed that the amp draw, at least on the 26-inch model, is 1. (Actual measured: 8 amps) This is nearly four 1157 type filament bulbs, which are commonly found in RVs, in terms of amp draw. br>br>These will be fantastic when I'm running on Park Power and don't need to conserve my battery charge. br>br>However, I now intend to use a single LED with a current draw of zero. As dual lighting, it draws only 01 amps. So when I'm boondocking, I won't have to worry about draining my batteries to keep these light bars running. I simply won't be able to compete in terms of brightness. These are so vibrant!.
The light was lovely, but the instructions were missing. The hookup, on the other hand, is simple, but the polarity is reversed. The Chinese, it appears, are backwards in more than one way. There are two types of leads: red and white. Normally, white to white is connected first, followed by the hot leads. This light connects white to black and red to white, but it's a nice light that I'd recommend. If you need it again, you can buy it.
The lighting is fantastic. They have a low profile and are very bright, with an all-aluminum body except for the plastic end caps. I bought the lights for my cargo trailer, but I had to return them twice because of poor packaging, missing parts, and a broken light on one occasion. The lights come in a box that is about the same size as a shirt box and is made of very light material. The shipper should double box to save everyone's time and trouble, but I'm guessing they're just trying to save money. out and take a chance on the lights arriving intact. Consumers will be frustrated, but Amazon makes it simple to return items. Due to the poor packaging and the numerous returns I had to make, I only gave it four stars.
The case and lens have a nice appearance. Installing it was a breeze. It's a lot brighter than the fluorescents I replaced in my RV. br>br>WARNING: BE CAREFUL. The cutouts on some older fixtures are larger than those on new LED fixtures. I was replacing some fluorescent fixtures that were the same length as the new LEDs, but the old fluorescents had wider cutouts than the new LEDs. Making them work necessitated some "field engineering. " Overall, it's a good product. br>br>.
