Unlike the screws used in most RV kits, the screws in this kit are made of stainless steel so they won't rust or stain. The nuts are also made of stainless steel.

This is a fitting for tubes 1" in diameter

While DIY installation is possible, it is highly recommended to have a professional install it, since no installation instructions are provided.

Would someone be able to give me some directions on how to install this? It would be nice to see a picture. ?

You don't have to think too hard about it. When removing the mounting plate from the RV body, it is a good idea. With the round part facing the ladder and the teeth facing the RV, the ladder teeth should face the ladder. Thus, the teeth will grab the bolt as it is tightened towards the body of the RV. After the new bolt has been fed through the hole and the newly installed nut has been tightened, just install the plate on the RV once more. In the event you can't remove the plate as mine was heavily stuck onto the RV, I just used the original bolt and secured the nut on the bolt by estimating the distance I wanted the bolt to go into the ladder tube once the teeth of the bolt were facing Whenever I needed to grab the ladder, I simply pushed the ladder tube over the grasping nut. You won't be able to pull it back when the teeth dig in.

Securing my ladder took a lot of work. Corrosion of the nuts inside caused them to fall out. Unfortunately, I was unable to remove the backplate that attached to the coach that held the bolt, but I was able to pull the ladder just enough so I could thread on the retainer There was no problem matching the thread type of the original bolt.

In addition to being made from stainless steel, this ladder mounting system is also rust-free, so consider reusing all existing ladder mounting hardware In the case of anchor points that are mounted with screws likely to rust, consider replacing them with aluminum expanding rivets.
