As far as I learned, the team at Keystone Passport did not feel that it was necessary to screw the waste valve extension tube/handles until they had seated properly. It looks like an extra thread is showing. Then the other one got away on a road trip covering 4300 miles! It seems that Valterra gates and handles are always of a high quality I have never had any issues with them. It would be great if it had an 18". (Really an 8 and a 9? Really? With a tubing cutter, I was able to get the tubing to 21"), but a 18" would have been much easier. On these Valterra gates, I directly replaced the plastic handles with the new metal handles by removing the plastic handles from the extension gates. I recently got some new valves from Valterra for some seasonal preventive maintenance so I wouldn't have to deal with them being pretty nasty when I exchanged them. It was fabricated that some "support brackets" from stainless steel would provide midway support to help prevent the possibility of bending or causing issues due to road vibrations.
