The picture is wrong and the product is knock-off. The enterprise element of a business. The element is basically a knockoff of the genuine thing. The only thing I would have done differently is not ordered it if I had known. This item contains a picture of a Dometic element, but that was not delivered with our order.
It is supposed to be a direct factory replacement for original units (OEM or similar), however, I have changed my own four times now on a 2013 model year van in a full-time rv park. My final attempt at diagnosing the failure was to cut one apart after having checked voltage, current, and resistance both within the unit and as supplied to the power supply. The wire for the resistance is fairly fine, and it is It looks uniform and has no voids, like mud. As a result, all conductor lengths (seem to) be shortened, which I suspect leads to eventual overheating (since input current remains constant) and eventual There are two coils specified for the Dometic line an 80 ohm and a 40 ohm Regardless of delivery, price, and availability being the best they've ever been.
In my Coachman Freelander, I bought this to go with my Dometic refrigerator. Even with the fridge unhooked, the GFCI will stay on. The problem was caused by the heating element, according to a Google search. By disconnecting the heater element from the PCB board, I tested the GFCI to see if it tripped. Purchased this item, which is specific to the model and installed it as soon as it arrived. I am pleased with the results thus far. refrigerator also runs on propane, but I do not like having appliances on my RV that only work half as well as they should.
That's the way it should be. I was able to get back into business after my electric refrigerator stopped cooling. The diagnosis is A propane heater was turned on to cool the building. The old heater element had power coming out of the panel. There was no resistance on the old element. We had to spend a lot of time removing the old one due to corrosion in the tight chamber it fit.
Please order this only if you have an affinity for mechanical works. It is designed differently than my original element, with the transition from the element to the wiring being much wider than my original, making for a much more difficult installation than removing my original You will have to guide the element down through a very confined area by feel only, since the installation is in a very tight, constrained space. Due to my experience restoring vintage cars and working in electronic repairs for many years, I did not have a problem. The installation of this is a simple one if you are mechanically inclined and able to work by feel in the dark where you can't see. It is a somewhat time consuming process though.
I can at least say that since I installed this, my refrigerator has kept working properly. Before, it would rarely get cold inside and then just stop working when it was running It turned out that my control board was still in good shape after testing it for 120V, so I quickly ordered a few elements. Having never spent a lot of time with RV refrigerators, I watched a few YouTube videos in order to figure out how to install this unit. Despite the small space, it was relatively easy to install. My fridge is an Americana RM2652 dated 2003. In these subs you'll see photos of the old and new elements.
I found this heating element to be exactly as advertised. It took me about twenty minutes to install it when I got it on time. I am really happy with how this works and I'm very satisfied.
