Questions & Answers

What size generator do you need to run a 2. Is there a soft start option for a 5-ton unit?

I put Micro- in place. On my 2 ton heat pump, I have Air 368. A 7000-watt inverter generator is currently in use. The air conditioner starts up quickly and consumes around 1800 watts of total power. 5 tons isn't a huge increase in weight.

Is there a benefit or drawback to 'oversizing' the easystart unit for a specific application, such as using a 6-foot extension cord? ton easystart for a three-person team ton a/c?

The most serious problem is the size of the packages. I wish I had chosen the smaller unit because it would have fit under the cover of my condenser wiring panel.

Is there a 5-year warranty on this unit? For power flickers and other issues, is there a minute lockout feature?

Yes, there are a number of built-in safety features, including a timed lockout in the event of a power outage. ) Thanks! 435 Hutch Mountain is a mountain in the United States. ,494,. 1975

Will a Honda 2200 start a 16,000 BTU marine air conditioner?

Hello, my air conditioner used to run at 26 amps and now runs at 9 to 14 amps. I haven't tried the Honda 2200 yet, but I am confident it will work.

Work is fantastic! During startup, the current dropped by 50 amps
5/5

So, just to let you know, I went from about 75A on startup before installing the MicroStart to about 26A on the first startup after installing it. (Supposed to be a 5-cycle learning routine to improve startup and reduce amp consumption. ) ) I'm not a fan of air conditioning, but I'm a computer whiz. circuits, as well as a variety of other subjects. I was ready to install after watching a lot of videos because I had never seen a two cap setup before. If you have a "start capacitor" in addition to the run cap, things get a little more complicated. I'm sorry, but I'm unable to assist you in this area; however, the internet is available to assist you. The MicroAir HERM wire, on the other hand, was connected to the compressor run cap (motor side) in my setup. Splicing the MicroAir BROWN wire to the motor wire, which is directly connected to the contactor. That was the red wire in my case, and the Microair WHITE wire goes where the red motor wire used to be. So what if your wire colors are different? The MicroAir BLACK wire is ADDED to the contactor, which is electrically opposite the red wire. tip: Following the capacitor HERM wire to the contactor may make it easier to locate the BROWN wire connecting to the motor wire. Remember, on the inside of the cover you removed to get to those wires, there should be a wire diagram. My words here are not intended to be taken as professional advice; rather, they are intended to describe my installation experience. If you're not sure, seek professional advice. I can't imagine that paying someone to install four wires would be prohibitively expensive. Best of luck!.

I couldn't be more pleased! A new 4 ton HVAC system was installed recently
5/5

The LRA (start-up amps) was 130. I installed the Micro Air 368 so that we could run our entire house, including the air conditioner, on my 10,000 watt portable generator during a power outage while also extending the compressor's life. My initial amps were reduced from 130 to 50. I couldn't be more pleased!.

So far, everything has been going swimmingly
5/5

I studied the wiring and setup instructions until I fully comprehended what was being said and why it was being said. Then - only after that Is it true that I was fully prepared to put it in? Everything went smoothly during the installation. The unit is much quieter when it first starts up, but it is still far from silent. Running is more comfortable and quiet. The new amplification system I can't say what the instantaneous was because the probe type meter I got for it didn't store properly. or is. However, I saw 56 amps for a brief moment before it dropped to 14. The current draw is 9 amps. Since it's completed the learning cycle, I haven't checked it. The weather hasn't been particularly warm either. Unit with a capacity of 5 tons and a voltage of 220 volts.

It worked, but not to the extent that I had hoped
5/5

It was a mixed bag of an installation. Finding a way to mount it inside the unit was the most difficult part for me. I have a Rheem RA1648 that fit inside after some convincing. Because the box is weatherproof, it can be mounted outside the unit as a last resort. The wiring was the easiest part. There are only four wires to connect, and I used quick connectors on all of them to ensure that the unit could be restored to factory settings if necessary. The downside was that it didn't reduce the inrush current as much as I had hoped. The inrush was about 25 amps lower than the plate without the easy start, and it was about half that with the easy start, according to the clamp meter I used. That seems reasonable, but their literature states that cheaper clamp meters, such as mine, read much lower than actual inrush. So while it definitely decreases the inrush current by approximately 50%, I am concerned that it might not be enough.

My HVAC Service Technicians were blown away! I'm down in Southwest Florida on my own, putting together a backup power system
5/5

It's an insurance policy, and I'm not willing to spend tens of thousands of dollars on a fully automated home security system. If the power goes out, I have a new tri-fuel generator that can keep my essentials running. However, it lacks the starting wattage capacity that my Trane air conditioner and compressor require. Micro Air is here to help. This device was recommended by my air conditioning service manager, and two technicians installed it after asking me to come out and look at it. The compressor was significantly quieter in operation, which was the first thing I noticed right away. They also photographed the screen of their diagnostic device to show me the difference in amperage draw when the compressor was turned on. The amperage draw on startup with the device was 1/3 of what it was without it, and they mentioned a voltage test reading to show how efficient the compressor was running. After everything was said and done, they both told me they were going to buy the device! They were blown away! I'm hoping it will work as part of my emergency power system, but I'm also confident it will reduce wear and tear on a costly piece of equipment.

It Works
5/5

My wife insisted on a generator that could power the entire house, including the air conditioning. I put my three to the test. The 122a peak starting amps on a 5 ton central Diakin unit were discovered. My goal was to purchase a 50-amp portable generator that could power the entire house but was small enough to transport when not in use. This was purchased in the hopes of it working. The wiring, plug, and generator interlock were all set up by me. I decided to give the generator a shot to see what would happen. When it first turned on, it turned off all the lights but kept the air conditioner running. The generator's switch was tripped on the second start. I set up the Micro- Air 368. It was very quick. The generator kept the house cool and powered everything else. I returned with my meter to check the peak amps, but the meter continued to read around 4 amps. I believe it begins slowly enough that the meter recorded an incorrect amp reading. Fortunately, the Micro Air has Bluetooth capability, so the reading is possible. After that, the peak amps are 48 amps. FYI, the directions say to connect the white wire to the capacitor, but I don't think it matters because the voltage is only 110v per side. It worked, and if you followed the instructions, you won't have the three flaws I did.
