Set the arm and foot assembly on the back flat part of a vise and flair it out with a pointed tip punch and hammer, or use a crimping tool.
There isn't only one.
I'm not certain. Go to YouTube and search for "youtube" I typed in model 8500 and the part I was looking for, and it came up. You can change anything you want, and they'll run it step by step for you. I hope this information is useful to you, Annette.
It worked on both my A and E from 1999. Attached with a cotter pin and washer, I used a hardened brass pin. On the subject of measurements, yes.

Some days, being stupid is the best thing you can do for the rest of the day. I got too close to a safety post while trying to navigate my 40-foot motorhome through a toll booth. It's there to keep idiots like me from crushing their little homes away from home. Anyway, the post decided to teach me a lesson by destroying the lower bracket that held my awning strut in place on the coach. This substitution was ideal. It was necessary for me to paint it black, but so what?.
Because it has a stainless pin instead of the original's pot metal, this awning foot is much more durable than the original. If you're looking for a replacement for the 8100 series, be cautious! It's possible that the rivet holes don't match the awning arm. This isn't a flaw; this foot wasn't made for that arm, but it's a step up from the previous one. Simply drill new holes in the awning arm and secure them with new rivets or a long bolt and nut. If a big storm hits while my awning is out, I'm confident my RV will be able to get away before the awning foot snaps!.
Super- simple to swap out It would have been nice if it had come with the rivet, but that's not a big deal. I just used a 1/4 inch bolt and a locking nut, and it worked perfectly. Because my motorhome is old, it does not need to be spotless and attractive. Make sure to order the appropriate rivet to mount this with if you want it to be perfect and beautiful. Excellent quality and finish.
Installation is simple, and the product is of excellent quality.
The fit is perfect, and the quality of the product is excellent.
The replacement foot is excellent, but mounting hardware must be provided by the user. A replacement long rivet or mounting bolt and lock nut would be very helpful to Atwood/Dometic in terms of customer support.
