Selected User Reviews For Camco RV Vent Insulator And Skylight Cover with Reflective Surface, Fits Standard 14" x 14" RV Vents (45192)

This product is good quality, however it cannot be used with vents that have It won't fit a Fantastic Fan vent (or a MaxAir vent, for example, which is likely to have a built-in fan)
3/5

I still think it will be able to be useful even with the following modifications, rather than return it Rather than remove all of the foam at that point, I cut a 2" x 3" hole on one corner, so that it would fit over the knob that will The edges of the hole were strengthened by applying aluminum duct tape (the good stuff that is meant to be used for duct work and not the cloth tape that everybody calls "duck tape"). Lastly, I added some Velcro to the corners of the Fantastic Fan opposite of the hole and Velcro tape to two of the corners of the Vent Insulator, aligning it with the Velcro on the Camco. should still act as an adequate air seal when not perfectly installed, since it holds the vent in place adequately but not perfectly. A 5 star rating would be appropriate if this item fitted my vent, but I didn't find it to be fit for purpose. The quality of the product is very good for its price. Although Camco should make sure to mention in its ad, both on Amazon and elsewhere, that it will not fit vents that have fans built in.

I couldn't have done it better myself! The insulation provided by this material is ample
5/5

Despite having three ceiling vents in our RV, we only bought one because this was our first RV and we weren't sure if these products actually worked. As a first tip, let me give you a few words of advice. When they are shrunk they look like this A plastic bag was used to wrap the package. Rather than get rid of the plastic on the product, we left it on because we had two reasons for doing so. First of all, the product is essentially a square section of foam covered in a thin layer of cloth. In spite of the fact that the vent area gets really dirty, especially if you're camping in a desert or really anywhere where dirt can blow into your RV, the plastic keeps the product really Another thing is that we sometimes like to open the vents right after a rainstorm or a foggy day so a few droplets of rainwater get into the vent, which combine with the dust and dirt and you have a pretty little mess that discolors There is also the possibility of mildew developing. Let's see, the "vent pillow" is protected by the plastic both from dirt and water if the plastic is intact! Having found that this product functions so well in both keeping out the heat on a hot day and keeping out the cold on a cold day, we bought two As far as I am aware, the vents on ALL RVs are standardized at 14" x 14". This means these vents will fit all types of RVs, whether they are travel trailers, fifth wheels, Class A, B, or C, or vans. The holes are slightly larger than the vent so they fit snugly and provide a good fit! There is no reason not to buy this product due to its cheap cost.

THE PERFECT "OFF" AND A TOTAL BLACK OUT A WHITE color is used here
5/5

There is a 103 degree temperature outside at 5 a. m. The time is 30pm On Monday, I will turn 106. There will be high temperatures of 103 or higher the rest of the week. We bought four of these for our Max Air vents, one of which came with the reflective liner, the others The reflective type completely blackened out the room. I tried both types in my bedroom and one needed to be flipped open. I LOVE IT. It's barely possible to see any light through the one without the liner. We do not wake up in the morning because there is not enough music. The other issue is that both products were off-target - Supreme Court case White It was white-white in color, and it matched perfectly with the vent frame and ceiling. It is surprising to see just how white the cover looks in the photo of the product with reflective side. (See the two colors for switches on the light switch plate. With one of these vent covers shoved in the shower skylight with the shower shade covering the gap, I was sure we would save money on our electric bill based on a two minute test. It won't take more than a minute for it to rise to the top A cool, reflective cushion gave off a lot of heat and I could feel a big difference with the heat that came through. Putting the cushion on your head. As well, I'll be searching for a custom size piece of foam for the shower skylight. Moreover, I like the fact that all the covers are machine The product was great, the price was excellent, and the timing was perfect. In the past, Camping World sold these for around $14.

A version of model 45195 without reflective surfaces is available
5/5

Insulator that blocks light and doubles as a decorative seat cushion or throw pillow. Products with multiple applications are appealing to me, and these products fit the bill on a number of They are high on the list of my favorite RV accessories purchased in the last few months, and we have already used them on multiple occasions. The simple answer is that they are made from white foam rubber that is about three inches high The thickness is about 1/2" and the diameter is around 14" Their opening is about 1/2 inch square, so they're bigger than the standard RV roof vent opening of 14 inches square. You won't notice any odor coming from the foam rubber right out of the package, and it remains so even after a month. The covers can be washed easily, since they come with a white fleece cover. The square vents on your roof can be fitted with them by simply pushing them into the Foam is slightly compressed to form a friction fit that seals and insulates against heat while blocking its majority of Although I have left them in place while towing, including some fairly rough sections, they have never come loose. Taking off the fleece covers requires only grabbing the cover and pulling.

We took these insulators with us on our first camping trip after buying three of them. We stayed at a lake in Texas over a late July weekend. The air conditioner was running less often, despite the afternoon temperatures reaching the high 90s, and the coach stayed at a comfortable 68 degrees even though the afternoon temperatures pushed into the 90s. Normally, light from vent covers would enter through these areas, but most of that light is blocked by these pictures to see how much light is blocked. We live in an area where we've found the function to be very useful on mornings when we need Our experience has also been that they serve well for throw pillows and also serve well for seat cushions on a folding bench that we carry. They are just at a month's use in mostly hot, sunny Texas weather. I bought them on 7/27/16 and took pictures on 8/26/16, so they are hardly a month old and have been used in mostly hot, sunny weather. You can see subtle marks on the Vent Insulator surface and edge where it has been pressed against the vent crank handle for most of the last month if you look closely at the picture with the tape measure on the 14" side. I did not notice it anymore after a few minutes. It has been suggested that users slightly open their roof vent cover before installing these during bright sunny days so that some of the heat that accumulates between the insulator and the plastic vent cover can be vented. Despite the fact that this isn't a bad idea, I wouldn't open them too much, since a sudden torrential downpour could leave you with.
