I've never towed anything with mine. Behind my backhoe, I've used it to lift and pull trees. I dug up trees with a backhoe, some of which were at least 16 inches in diameter. The chain's load limit is 3900 pounds, so it should be able to tow a car or small truck as long as the wheels aren't locked.
I'm not sure what the limit is, but the last tree I tried to pull with this chain was limited by my thirty-five horsepower tractor. Before using this chain on a "large" log, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of variables that must be considered.
It's not stainless steel; instead, it's a heavy-duty logging chain. There is a storage box included with this item.
I'm using it to lift logs, so I'm sure it can.

This is an excellent example of a well-written essay. made a sturdy chain with two hooks on each end - one hook for general use and one chain slotted hook The slotted hook is made to fit over a chain link, making fine loop adjustments a breeze. This slotted hook can also be used with BXpanders' 5/16" tractor bucket hooks. I replaced the general purpose hook with an after market 5/16" slotted hook because I wanted to use the chain to lift objects with the bucket of a tractor. The chain is now even more adjustable, with a 14-inch length. It is ideal for lifting because of its length.
I just got the one I ordered, and it arrived in four days. and free! The chain is quite substantial. It appears to have been sprayed with oil after being made. The case is of poor quality, as it is made of light plastic and one of the latches is broken; In any case, I'm not going to use it. When I begin skidding logs this summer, I'll see how the chain hooks fare. On the surface, I believe I will purchase a second chain. 30/04/14: 04/30/14: 04/30/14: 04/30/14: 04/30/14: 04/30/14: 04/ I placed a second chain order, and it should arrive today. The chain wears out quickly, according to one review, and the slider hook isn't strong enough to skid logs, according to another. I'm sure those reviews were written by guys who use their chains more frequently than I do, but the first one I bought hasn't had any problems skidding logs, and I'm happy with it. The only way to know for sure is to wait and see. br>br>04/14/14: br>br>04/14/14: br>br>04/14/ I used one of these chains to skid logs for a week and a half and had no problems. Neither of the hooks gave me any trouble. The slider hook does exactly what it should, and the chain "slides" along it as it tightens around the tree, with no noticeable chain wear. I'll tell my friends about these chains.
Would I purchase this necklace again? Will I ever need to? Isn't that a better question? This is a tough chain. This is a difficult task. I wouldn't say I've tried to break it, but there have been a few times in the last three months when I've asked for more than it's capable of delivering. This is something I keep on my L39 Kubota and use on a regular basis. This chain has left me completely satisfied. It gets 5 out of 5 stars from me.
Exactly as stated. I had no idea the two end hooks were different, but now that I know, and after using it a few times, I see why. I prefer to attach to the tractor with the more open hook and attach to the load with the other.
This chain is ideal for dragging logs with an ATV; if your ATV is powerful enough, you can hook up several trees and pull them long distances, but you won't have any problems with this chain! This is an excellent logging chain, and you'll be hard pressed to find something comparable in this price range. br>The plastic box it comes in is a little cheesy, but that isn't why I bought it.
As described, it's a good chain that gets the job done.
For pulling stumps, this is a really nice, heavy-duty chain.
I was taken aback by the case that arrived; stunning.
