Those mounting holes are two in number. 3/8" in the middle center.
Buyers Products' part DH304 is the company's longest door hold back.
Part DH304 has a 4-inch-long arm.
For a door hold back, I used bolts through the wall of my cargo trailer - Wind was not an issue. If you're not sure what size screws to use, consult a professional. Depending on the material used on the RV's side and the mounting supports in place. I'd make sure you have a board behind the siding you're screwing to, and base your mount height on that.

The long arm does not have a spring to keep it in place, which is a flaw in the design. As a result, it won't work for my camper door, as the long arm bounces and rattles all the time while driving. This type of clasp would be great for something stationary, but that's probably not why you're looking for it. If a spring were added to the long arm to keep it snug when not in use, it would be perfect. I'd rate it 5 stars for ease of use. As- I believe I am being generous with the number four. If you don't require the spring, it's adequate.
The pin snapped the first time I used it on my trailer! My husband threw the broken pieces away, so I can't even exchange it right now. I didn't expect it to fall apart so quickly. Disappointed to the point of frustration.
I tried two other types and this one was superior to both. It won't wear out as quickly, and it won't require you to line it up perfectly straight on the first try. It has the ability to latch on from a different angle. br>br>Material feels like lighter aluminum, so it shouldn't rust too quickly. br>br>Easy to catch and release with one hand. br>br>Material feels like lighter aluminum, so it shouldn't rust too fast. The design is fantastic. Perhaps all that's missing is a magnet to keep it from swinging loosely while in transit.
On my enclosed trailer, this is by far the best door holder I've ever used. It's easier to fasten the door open so that it won't come loose and slam into me or the items I'm carrying. When you're ready to shut the door, it's also very simple to unlock. These will be purchased for any door that needs to be held open in the wind or at any other time; they are very attractive and will never rust.
This is the genuine article. My trailer doors are held in place by a very strong, solid grip. There's no need to be concerned about one being caught in the wind. Although it takes two hands to latch the door open (one for the door and the other to guide the latch arm in), they can be unlatched with ease with just one hand.
This thing is a superior upgrade if you have an old hooptie trailer door catcher that is either plastic or a bent up wire. The quality is excellent, and the operation is simple. However, it does not include hardware, so you will need to provide your own.
I couldn't find this part anywhere else, and it fit perfectly. This is a great fix if you've misplaced, damaged, or lost yours. Instead of the rivets that had previously held it in place, I decided to screw it in.
Until you let go of the latch, it does exactly what you'd expect. On all of my construction job trailers, I put them in place. In any weather, including pulling down the interstate, doors will not come unlatched. In the future, I will only buy these!.
