This item was purchased under the impression that it was manufactured in the United States. It's a shame it's the same hitch as the Curt, but it's more expensive; I bought a Wallace Forge 10 ton pintle to compare, and the WF is three times the quality for $15 more. The jaw on the Chinese hitch is loose and off center, as you can see in the photo. The WF has a strong and secure jaw. When I changed out my old one, it fit perfectly. It came with instructions, a helpful sticker to put on the frame where the holes need to be drilled, and another sticker that says the weight rating of the pintle hook.
Massive chunk of solid steel - as solid as a rock excellent.
Buyers' one on the right is actually a 30 ton hitch, I previously purchased a no-name 30 ton and it looked tiny.
The fit was excellent, and the functionality was excellent. I drove from California to Texas and purchased a 30' 8,000-pound trailer, which I towed home with no problems using a slide-in hitch plate. Everything fell into place without fail.
The latch is easy to use and the casting is smooth.
I'm sure it's strong enough to pull a freight train if your tires can keep traction and you have a diesel truck, and it's a great price. It says 10 ton, but I'm sure it's strong enough to pull a freight train if your tires can keep traction and you have a diesel truck.
