I'm not sure where the 45-inch dem comes from. From flange to flange, I have a measurement of 41. This hitch will fit my 2004 3500 Ram. I measured the frame of my 1994 1500 Ram and it is only 39 inches wide outside to outside.
No, it isn't going to happen.
Yes, it should. I installed this front hitch on my 2007 Ram 3500 crew cab 4 x 4 so that I could pull my boat trailer down the offloading ramp.

My 2008 Dodge 2500 was a perfect fit for this hitch. I came away with a few takeaways that I'd like to share. When you remove the bolts that hold the bumper in place, all you have to do now is back the lower bolts just far enough to allow the hitch to slip up into place. To get the hitch close to the required height, you might want to put it on stands or use blocking. It is not necessary to use a floor jack. I lifted the other end after leaving one bolt out a ways and attaching the hitch to it. If you need to add spacers, now is the time to do so. You won't have to dismantle the hitch any longer. The bumper's four bolts were all tightened up. After that, I used a half-dollar bill as a reference point. I used a one-inch drill bit to mark the four areas on the bottom of the frame where I needed to drill for the hitch mounts. Then I started with small bits and gradually increased the size until I had a half-finished product. I egged or rounded the holes to make more room, inch by inch, as needed. Then, above the hitch mounting bolts, I drilled two holes in the frame to allow access to thread the bolts and plates into the frame. I don't have a 1 1/4" drill bit, but I do have a 1" drill bit and several drill bits that lead up to it. I marked the area to be drilled on the frame using a template made from a piece of steel strap with two small holes 3/4" apart. I drilled one hole to 1" after drilling the other to 1/2". You'll need a full 1" hole to get the bolt head through. After that, clean the drill shavings out of the holes with compressed air or a magnet. These have the potential to wreak havoc on your life. To ensure that the two holes for the hitch mount are clean, it may be necessary to redrill them. From the hitch mount hole to the access hole you drilled, it's easier to insert the capture wire. Then, using the square, put on the plate and then the carriage head bolt, slipping the plate through separately and then the bolt, which will find each other on the way down. Then, holding the bolt with needle nose pliers, remove the capture wire before adding the washer and nut. Repeat the process until the bolts are torqued. The original bumper bolts were torqued to a 68-degree angle. The bolts on the bottom are torqued at 75-foot pounds, and the bolts on top are torqued at 75-foot pounds. pound for pound I didn't jack up my truck or use a creeper, so this took me 4 1/2 hours. My concrete driveway was the focus of my efforts.
Cummins 9 cylinder engine The bolts that hold the bolts together cannot be used with the plate that holds them together. There are two spacers (one with tow hooks) that fit between the vertical hitch mount and the frame on the outside, preventing the use of the original connected bolts. ) If the bolt ends clear the radiator, you can cut the plate and use the original bolts. (2005 6. Otherwise, you'll need 12 mm by 100 ish mm bolts for the top bolts for the vertical mount on the top bumper bolt to ensure they don't gouge the radiator side. As long as you know about the bolts, this should go together fairly easily. However, enlist the help of three friends, two on the bumper and one underneath, to position the top bolt on the vertical mount hitch plate first, then tighten that bolt with the upper bumper mounting bolt, allowing you to use the hitch plate on the bottom of the frame for the 1/2 inch hole guides. The truck frame is relatively soft metal (so it will flex and not crack), so the 1 1/4 hole saw worked well and the 1/2 inch holes were drilled quickly. Once the vertical hitch plate mount was in place with the original modified bolt, the installation was relatively quick.
It appears to have been well-made. The fit was excellent, and the installation was not difficult for two people. The most significant flaw is that it is set too low, resulting in a significant reduction in ground clearance. On a stock ht pickup, if a winch is used, the winch will be about 12 inches above ground. I got mine to work, but I'm not going to use the winch to its full potential. This was installed on a 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 with a 5. 9-liter engine.
Installation is simple, and it works well with a winch that is mounted in the front.
I used a 2004 Dodge 3500 diesel dually with an 8-foot bed to install it. Will be used to maneuver the trailer through narrow spaces. When servicing the engine compartment, you should also install a front step. This hitch, I believe, will also help to prevent flexing of the front frame while driving. It can't hurt! I've already installed a steering box brace and upgraded front-end components to help with the death wobble.
Fits perfectly on the front bumper of my Dodge Ram 2500 from 2004. I'm. This product has made me very happy.
It's well-made, but I don't like how low it sits below the air dam, and after installation, I discovered welding splatter in the receiver, which had to be ground before it could be used. In addition, rather than drilling a large hole in my frame, I chose to remove the bumper and clips.
He was completely unsurprised, and he looks and performs admirably.
