It's installed in my 2017 Silverado 2500.
Where the license plate used to be, I had to cut the plastic.
I believe Draw Tite sells a license plate insert, but it isn't hinged.
Call the factory or look up the part number. I realize this isn't much of a help, but I installed one on a 2013 Silverado 2500 and was very pleased with the fit and finish.

This is for a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Diesel that I purchased. After hours of fumbling around trying to figure out how to just bolt this on, I realized I needed to remove my front bumper entirely to make room for it. I also had to cut a hole in my plastic air dam that hangs below the bumper, but I was aware of this prior to purchasing it. If you buy it, you should watch a video of someone removing the bumper before tampering with it. It was simple once I figured out the tricks. The hitch is well-made, and once I removed my bumper, it was surprisingly simple to install. All of the holes were perfectly aligned. Now that it's up and running, I'm very pleased with it. In total, it took me about three hours.
I was worried that I'd be stuck with this hitch because it was the only one I could find that would fit inside my tow hook brackets (the outside of the tow hook brackets supports the bull bar), but I was pleasantly surprised by how well it fit. It has the same pulling capacity and tongue weight capacity as the others, but it gives you the option of having a front receiver as well as a bull bar (of the Tyger brand). Everyone I spoke with said you could only have one or the other, but after doing my research and watching YouTube videos, I discovered that both products could be used in conjunction with two 1 1/2" bolts. I won because the two of them came together like a dream. Draw, you did an excellent job. Tite.
If you have a Silverado, this should be fairly straightforward to install, but the Sierra's fascia is made of 1/8" steel and must be carefully cut out. This is covered in the instructions, so it comes as no surprise; however, there are a couple of other issues that aren't covered. Because part of the frame will prevent it from going straight into the hole you cut out, the hole must be larger than the instructions specify. You'll need the larger hole because you'll have to put it in at an angle. Because the hitch would not move forward far enough to line up the holes, I had to grind down a section of the front frame to make it fit. I like how it sits higher than the Curt, but unless you have a good grinder, some time, and a little know-how, I'd suggest looking at another hitch.
The hitch was well-made in my opinion, and installation was fairly simple; however, you will need some above-average mechanical ability because you will be cutting a hole in your front bumper and manipulating the hitch into place, which required some effort but was not excessive. It looks great now that it's mounted, and I've loaded it up with two 60-pound bicycles. bikes. Hitch was great, and I had no problems with him during our trip. This is a product that I wholeheartedly endorse.
With no porosity, it's a high-quality construction. The directions were simple and straightforward. This isn't for you if you're working on a 2016 Silverado 2500HD and can't read a measuring tape. There is some calculating and cutting of front bumper plastic involved. It has a nice appearance and is set higher than the competition. To slide into the front hitch receiver, I'll need to make a license plate holder. Works well for securing trailers and as a winch mount for a portable winch. It can pull up to 9,000 pounds in a straight line. With a little custom fab work to beef it up, it'll have a lot more pulling power.
I use it to mount a bike rack and a winch, and I prefer it to other brands because it tucks into the bumper rather than hanging below it.
It's a good price. br>Not so good, my holes were misaligned when it arrived. My first thought was that my truck had been in an accident that I wasn't aware of, but when I measured it, it was square; however, the hitch was not. The holes could have been elongated in 5 minutes with a die grinder, but who wants to do that? Otherwise, the hitch works great, and your lower valence is in a great spot if you don't mind cutting it.
This hitch receiver has a nice appearance and is mounted high enough to avoid dragging on the ground. It was not an easy task to complete the installation. I had to cut an extra 7/16" at the top of the opening you're supposed to cut out for the receiver to pass through to install this without removing the Grill, Front Bumper, Front Trim above Bumper, Inside Fender Wheel Well Liners. I could have saved myself 4 hours of installation time if I'd known this from the start.
