Is it necessary for me to install the nuts? Will it work without the nuts? I have a 2005 Chevy Equinox and can't seem to find a way to get the nut on the opposite side of the frame. ?

I installed it without the nut on my 2011 Equinox. The bolt was simply screwed into the frame nuts.

Is this compatible with a GMC Terrain?

Is it compatible with a GMC Terrain from 2014?

The chevy equinox 2018 is not a diesel, so how do I get a trailer hitch to fit it?

Don't be lazy, go ahead and look it up; mine fits perfectly on my GMC TERRAIN, OK?

The issue with the installation has been resolved
4/5

This is a good product once it's installed, and I'm pleased with it. Despite the fact that this was my first time installing a trailer hitch, I wouldn't call myself a novice. It should have gone much faster, but I wasted about 45 minutes because the hitch was too narrow to fit (about 1/2 inch). "Perhaps they want it to be a tight fit," I reasoned. Or maybe there's a trick to putting it in the right spot. " I was assisting with a hydraulic jack. br>br>If you lift the hitch into place and it doesn't fit right away, don't waste time and try again. br>br>I was on the verge of giving up and returning it when I decided to conduct a Google search. The side brackets getting slightly bent during shipping is a common issue, according to my research. The hitch was essentially taped inside a cardboard box with no padding and stood on end by the UPS driver. I sat the hitch on the ground and slammed a rubber mallet into the side bracket. The side was "bent" back out as a result of this. The hitch fit perfectly when I reinstalled it, and the bolts were simple to install.

Snug Fit
5/5

For my 2013 Equinox, I ordered this. The item arrived in perfect condition, as described by the seller, with a brand new hitch. During shipping, it was wrapped in protective wrap to keep it from getting damaged. The hitch had all of the necessary hardware taped to it. Installation was interesting because I didn't lift the back end of my car (due to laziness). Before attempting to look up through the falling debris, I would recommend cleaning out the underside of your car with a vacuum or compressed air. Actual setup: br>br> First, I double-checked that the receiver's available holes corresponded to the pre-drilled holes. The Chevy had holes drilled in it (which was a good match). Then, using the provided wire, two bolts and steel plates had to be "fished" through the frame. Because I inserted the metal plate at an angle of 90 degrees, one side became blocked. (Learning curve) The second side went in without a hitch. Make sure the plate is inserted with a 1/8-inch gap. All that remained was to bolt up the side mounts after the paired up bolt/plate combo had been fished into the frame. Alignment, realignment, and final alignment were all necessary. For the side bolts, I used an air wrench, and for the center bolts, I used an impact. br>br>In terms of shop/car knowledge, I'd say I'm slightly above average. It took an hour to an hour and a half to complete this project. If I had jacked up the back end, it would have been a lot shorter. If I didn't have the air tools and hammer to make the adjustments, it would have taken a lot longer. br>br>I'll admit that this was a tight fit (hence the need for hammering to adjust). Others might have docked a star because of it. I, on the other hand, prefer a tight fit with a class III receiver because slop is not an ally when towing.

Curt deserves kudos for his outstanding performance
5/5

Curt deserves kudos for his outstanding performance. to Chevy! This was a perfect fit for my 2012 Equinox LT. I couldn't believe all six bolt holes were in the same place! Here are some suggestions: This car (5 years old) was purchased recently used. After five Buffalo winters, the chassis nuts were in desperate need of repair. Steel wool soaked in WD-40 was used to clean the chassis nut threads. I ran a metric tap M12- 40 after that. 75 times through each of the six chassis nut threads. The hitch was installed while the car was parked on a flat concrete driveway. I used a floor jack to keep it close to its final position under the car while still allowing me to move it around. Because of the pre-drilled holes, I was able to install all 6 bolts by hand. Other than the M12, a few tools that will help are: cleaning, then torqued with a 3/8" drive, followed by a 1/2" drive. The 75 tap and the floor jack are as follows: a six-point 19mm socket with a 1/2" DRIVE (not a deep well) For the various positions, I used several 1/2" drive extensions (I didn't use any). 3" & Use Never-Never-Never-Never-Never-Never-N Anti-seize or sieze Squeeze compound should be applied to all bolts.

The Curt hitch was a great choice, and I'm glad I went with it
5/5

Their website is simple to use, and their YouTube channel features excellent installation videos. I put it on our 2014 Equinox solely to use as a cargo carrier and bike rack. It was a piece of cake after viewing the video installation. I was lucky enough to be able to install it on a lift at work, but it was simple enough that it could be done on the floor, with ramps, or with a jack. It's a little heavy, so you'll need two people or a floor jack to lift it. The provided hardware even included a fishing tool for installing two of the difficult-to-reach bolts.

Nice finish, it appears to be very sturdy and straight-forward
5/5

install from the beginning Follow the instructions and clean the threads in the frame nuts where the bolts go in with penetrating oil and a wire brush, or get a tap. I figured it wouldn't be too bad, but I spent nearly two hours using oil and a wire brush to clean the threaded frame nuts. It was the process that took the most time. Before fishing the fish wire through the frame rail for the center bolts, make sure you thread it all the way around the carriage bolt, nice and tight. Once it's in place, pull the wire through the rail/bolt hole with a quick tug and it should drop in. I tried slowly dragging it through the frame rail the first time, but it got snagged on flaking rust (there was a LOT of rust inside the frame rail) and something else, and it came off the fish wire. The bolt and plate were a pain to remove from the rail. Then, using a floor jack, raise the hitch into place and tighten the four bolts on the sides. After that, move the jack out of the way and proceed to the middle washers and nuts. It's finished once you've torqued everything down.

Great hitch, well-made, and all six holes lined up perfectly
5/5

The Curt trailer hitch for my Chev Equinox was very well built! The whole solution worked out perfectly using my 20 gauge shotgun cleaning supplies, and the factory nuts and hitch attached to the frame were totally rust-free. My wire brush and trailer attach Kit should get you started ing.
