My car is a 2019 SLT, so I'm not sure.
It fits my 2020 Acadia Denali perfectly, so I can only assume it's true. After watching a video on the internet, my son installed it. It took about 90 minutes to complete instead of the recommended 30 minutes.

Doesn't look good on the 2018 Acadia. It must be cut to fit properly, as other reviewers have stated. The installation is supposed to take 40 minutes, according to the instructions. I worked for over three hours before giving up, and now the heat shields over the mufflers have been destroyed, and there is no hitch installed. I waited too long to try to install it, so I'm unable to return it. However, it is very heavy duty, so if you are handy with cutting to make it fit, it is probably a good deal. br>br>Update: It was necessary to take it to a professional installer, who stated that it took him much longer than expected but that he was able to complete the installation. He claims that the hitch doesn't leave much room for maneuvering, and that two people must raise it to the exact height required to make it fit. So I gave it another star because it did fit, but it isn't a 40-minute job that requires multiple people. I'm sure having a lift made their lives easier, but it'll be a long day if you don't.
I set it up in two ways. I worked alone for 5 hours in the garage without jacking up the car. To make room for a nut that is welded to the muffler hanger on both sides, I had to trim a small amount of clearance from the hitch support gussets. Aside from that, it wasn't such a bad job. The clearance you'll need to cut into the heat shields is nowhere near the instructions' outline. It is possible to make a 10" cut from a 12" cut. The 5" and 4" width openings expose an additional inch of the frame while still leaving most of the heat shield under the hitch mounting bracket. It'll be suffocated by the hitch. In addition, I had to remove a lot more seam sealer than the instructions suggested, especially near the muffler mounting bracket. A trained technician could install this in ten minutes, according to Curt's video. If they could install it properly in 30 minutes, I would kiss anyone's a$$ on Main Street at noon!.
This is a fantastic product that is both sturdy and attractive. It works perfectly and is extremely durable! br>br>Why is there such a disparity in the reviews? My father, a mechanic, spent 5 hours putting it on my 2018 Acadia. We needed to grind the bracket's corners so that it would fit under the car. He kept repeating, "45 minute installation, my a$$. " Also, because of the weight, this is not a one-man job. We had to use ramps to raise the vehicle, and it took another 5 hours before we could use the grinder to get everything to fit. When it's finished, it's fantastic. However, don't assume "I have a friend who can install it" unless they do so on a regular basis.
This product would be a perfect 5 star if it weren't so difficult to set up. This thing is built like an iron jackass, so it's a great buy. It tows fantastically and the hitch fits perfectly. However, I had to have it installed with a mount lift jack, which I had to take it in for. Add another 100 if you're on a cherry picker. Add a hundred dollars to the price and you've got yourself a great deal. Just thought you might be interested in knowing.
It's a good product, but the directions are a little hazy. They say it takes 40 minutes for a novice, but it took me 5 hours because the bolts didn't line up and I had to scrape away a lot more calking than the instructions said.
It wasn't too difficult to install; I had to scrape a lot of glue off the frame, but since my Acadia is a 2018 model, the glue came off fairly easily with a flat blade screwdriver. The heat shields must be trimmed.
Well-made, appealing to the eye, and functional. It was difficult to install, so I had to weld in some extra brackets. This was added to my 2019 GMC Acadia.
The bolt holes are the same size. The spare tire well had studs protruding from it that needed to be removed. It was necessary to modify the heat shield above the muffler. With a pair of tin snips, the heat shield modification was simple and covered in the instructions. What about the protruding studs that protrude from the spare tire well? What exactly are they doing in that location? They were cut off by me. This hitch would also be unable to mount flush to the frame due to the thick caulk. It's simple to remove/make flush with a screwdriver and a smacking tool. A perfect match: ) (with a little effort).
