This drop hitch and shank are very well made, with matching locking collars on a solid piece of aluminum. They are very easy to work with. The price is a bit higher than a standard 6" drop hitch It is not cheap, but worth it. I have been towing and trailering for more than 25 years. I know how to load, but with the odd exception, I often find myself in the midst of a fish-frenzy. There is just not enough space in the trailer I'm using on that particular day to fit the items I have loaded. As of now, I own 3 trailers, and the ease with which I can raise and lower the drop is outstanding. Clearly an unbalanced load is shown in the photo - lock it and don't move it
Example of a typical unbalanced load in the photo There is a lot of tail For posts I am building on a cabin porch, I am using 13 freshly cut wet cedar trees. This 4-inch thick wet cedar is HARD to work with, and these are 4" x 4 1/2" A height of six inches between twelve feet and six feet A trailer 10'8" long and 14'8" wide indicates that my back end was heavy, and I knew it would be once I loaded it all Using the scale on the ball hitch, I was able to determine (here's the key part) when the load was balanced even if I threw logs on the front of the As far as the scale was concerned, I was quite good based on my estimate of the load weight and what I could see on the As I drove home on the highway, I had no issues and did not have my rear end swinging around as a result of poor load management (guesses). Since I rough mill lumber on a regular basis, this is a game-changer for me when I have boards or trunks longer than my trailers can handle.
I feel safer on the road knowing that I am not loading things I shouldn't be loading for a few extra dollars. In an hour or two, I will be driving my Kubota on my 16' trailer and driving forward/backward depending on which Implements I will be bringing to the field As I put the load on my trailer, I noticed that the marks wear off over time and I've been guessing based on how the load rode. I drove it after I got I would appreciate it if you let me know that I should expect it on the way forward
UPDATE - 7/26/2021. After less than two years, I have been towing a number of different loads It was a great product, but the scale completely stopped working after a short while. Zero is the only value that is displayed There's no way for me to check my hitch weight, so I drive my tractor on till my truck's rear end drops until it can't handle the load. Having just purchased a scale, I'm wondering why I paid so much for it. A contact at the company was emailed to find out what they could do. My decision to spend the additional money on this product instead of a standard hitch has made me very upset right now.
After just one month, as you can see by the pictures, which are after a superficial cleaning, it looks really rough. As I first received the item, I thought it could just stay on my truck, but that doesn't seem to be One month after getting the receiver lock on, I still couldn't remove it. We sprayed WD40 on it and taped it for a day and finally got it loose. It was in good shape the outer part of the key, but the inner part with the locking bearings were We now come to the part about making adjustments. In the image above, I have tried to scrub off the tarnish from the rods after they looked bad. Those pins do not appear to be stainless, so I'll have to check out some metal cleaners. As bad as the pin retaining the stainless steel ball is the pin retaining the stainless steel ball. I guess the cover did a good job of protecting the lock for the adjustment pins because it was in perfect condition. There is an unfortunate lack of tethering the cover to the locking mechanism so that you don't lose it in the future. The unit generally seems to be working well but I was hoping it would outlive my truck but it doesn't seem to be the case. There ought to have been no corrosion in the locks' internals and all of their locking pins should be.
I purchased this rather expensive 4" drop hitch mainly because I saw this as a lifetime warranty. In the event of a failure Assuming it's the gauge, this should be the barometer. The hitch seems to be of excellent quality, which I was pleased to find out. The paperwork that came with it threw me for a loop after I started reading. Only one year warranty is offered on the gauge. I was also asked to submit a proof of purchase of the product when registering the product on the manufacturer's website, and the proof had to be from It is not a document or picture on my computer, or a document or picture from Amazon. I don't know how other people do this. The fact that I know then what I know now probably would not have prompted me to buy this hitch. In any case, it seems to be working fine. It's expensive and comes with a (limited) warranty, but it's okay.
The scale is fantastic! It was so disappointing to discover that the scale did not work properly right out of the box after purchasing this product back in July. As a result, I chalked it up as a loss, and I was preparing to move on with a great hitch that just wasn't functioning. Ashley, an employee with Weigh Safe, reached out to me a week ago to ask if I could review the item. Upon learning that my scale wasn't working correctly, she offered to send me a new one, provide the return label so that I could return the old one. A slider that works.
I got the new one yesterday and it is working perfectly. There have been many times when I used the hitch. Besides being very sturdy, light in weight, and having a great locking mechanism, it's also extremely stylish. It makes me so happy that I have such an awesome hitch with a scale in it! I would like to give you some advice, You may have a half-height shoe that is stock height Pick up a ton If you go with the four-inch drop instead of the six-inch drop, like I do, choose it. Although there is a 6" drop, there is sometimes a feeling of being too close to the ground. I hope this is helpful to you!.
Among the several things I do at renaissance faires is lead and load the Using this method, you can get an accurate tongue weight in a matter of seconds. Make sure your draw bar is registered. There is a one year warranty that covers just about anything. I'm going on vacation for two weeks, so they're putting in a new scale, expedited since I'm only gone a two week period, but you must be registered at the time. I installed locks on the adjustable section of the draw bar. may be overly paranoid, but the lock on the slider would give way if it ever did. All in all, I am very pleased with the final product.
