You may cause it to fray by cutting it. One of the worst things about this mat is the fold marks that never seem to fade. The mat was put in Redding's hot sun and steam steamed them but they did not work I tried steaming them, too. Here we are now, three years later - There are still fold marks on it.
Despite being flush with the ground, my wooden deck floor does not collect water. In the rain, it gets wet underneath, but that soon dries out with the sun.
There is no way to cut it. You will start to unthread it if you do that.

This is a bad move! Within a week of receiving it, it began to fade and tear in ten spots. Was going to throw it away in the end.
It is flimsy and sellers emphasize that their product is light. There's a lot of rug all over the place if there's a gust of wind. A product of this quality cannot be used outdoors.
In Florida, where the summers are humid and it often rains, this is the perfect summer coat. Love the way it looks!.

The surface is easy to maintain. The weight of the product is light, but the quality is not compromised. But the actual color of the green (it was darker) was different from what I expected.
This mat was made of cheap plastic type material rather than carpet type material for outdoor use. Moreover, the color in the picture was not the hunter green in the picture, but rather a green that seemed fake.
When my brand new rug fell apart the first time we used it, I was deeply disappointed. To keep the babies entertained while playing outside, I bought it for them. Baby play yards cannot be used on this rug as they won't.
