As a replacement for one that came apart on my Rockwood travel trailer, I installed 2 of these. They offer much better strength than the Lippert trailers specified as standard My only issue was that the hole through the exterior wall needed to be a little bit bigger with a rasp file and the colors of the wires were slightly different, but that did not cause any problems.
Wires of the black color are hot, while those on the white color are You will need to join the black wires. So join the remaining four wires together so they can act as ground wires.

This is a universal switch, so the color of the wires varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. I used an ohmmeter/voltmeter to sort out the wire colors. In my professional opinion, this switch is far superior to the original, and if anyone from Grand Design reads this, you should switch to using this one instead of the cheap model you currently use since it could adversely affect your As these switches have somewhat larger housings, I had to enlarge the hole in my trailer to accommodate them.
What it should have been like, and what it's predecessor should have been like. It seems inexplicable that this wasn't just a warranty part. (Except of course for the obvious reasons. It is not clear how much profit the company is making from Furthermore, the roof is (finally) sealed and weatherproof so it will not need to be repaired Isn't this something that ought to have been included in the first place? It's impossible to say for sure.
As described above, an old switch breaks down because it is poorly designed and moisture corrodes the pure copper contacts, making them green / black in color. Unlike older switches, the new one is enclosed in black resin to prevent damage. To my mind, the design of the switch as a whole is not that great. There will be four metal contacts that must be used to crimp on the wires of the replacement switch so they can go into the RV. These can be bought at most auto parts stores. If you follow these steps, you can resume business as usual. It goes up but not down when there is a bad switch. If it doesn't work, you can rock the switch back and forth until it does. As you know, it only gets worse over time. The Amazon switch was the cheapest I could find online. +$40 was the standard asking price for everyone else. It was fortunate that not the stabilizer motor failed. You are dealing with some serious cash.
There was a change in design of the switch that had to be cut flush to fit with the trailer on the back. Although there was alignment of the screw holes, the back of the trailer failed to fit through the existing slot. It is hardwired into the back of the replacement switch as well. Old switches had plugs that you slid on the switch to operate. Also, I thought the price was too high and that the product lasted only for a short time. The hardwired and sealed new switch was probably necessary due to a defective old one.
The parts on my XLR 5th wheel are exactly like the ones in this kit. My third switch has just gone out and I can tell it's going out soon. A person can always tell when a light is starting to flicker because it is starting to stick and then It was a disappointment working with Lippert. Coming up next is Stromberg Carlson.
My Everest 5th wheel mounts to the original holes on this unit, but it does not lock in the down position as When it comes to wires, you have to guess which is "hot" and where it connects unless you know exactly where they are located. Using the diagram from the switch I purchased that was too small for my mounting hole, I used the diagram on another switch I had. As the wire colors cannot be relied on in this device and the connection configuration cannot be viewed as the wiring is sealed inside the device. My hot wire was in fact pink in color.
I replaced the stabilizer system in my camper with this and it worked perfectly. However, out of the two switches, my old switch was in a round hole, and the new one was in a rectangle, so I modified it to accommodate it. As well as adding male flat ends to the four wires, I had to attach them to my existing wiring as well. I had no problems with this item once I had it installed in about 20 minutes Approximately thirty minutes.
I bought this switch to replace the switch on my Wildcat Maxx 24 TT in 2016. It is an exact replacement. Everything from the mounting holes onwards. A tip from the pros As you remove/cut the old switch, make sure to take photos of the wiring. A white wire is connected to two (2) different colored wires by the RV, assuming that they are of the same gauge. Connect the cables on the switch only where you know to do so.
