It has been mentioned by a number of people that they have been having problems with the wheel sliding and how they have attempted to prevent it from sliding when they added grip or rubber to the blocks. Following the drilling of two holes in the plastic, we tied off a rope along the leading edge of the block. A rope is then tied to the front of the wheel, followed by the block. You will not need to worry about the leveler sliding (regardless of the terrain you're on) when you pull the trailer wheel forward. The rope, in turn, holds the block, so there's no rope to slip. Make sure that you attach a rope to the grey chock, too, so you can easily grab it.
I got the grip strips at Walmart in the hitch department. These are bumper step grips.
You can raise or lower the levels as little as 1/4" because there are no preset levels. Here's the real problem with this item It's not at all clear where the money is coming from. Its bottom is completely smooth because it is made of It isn't possible to drive on a yellow wedge if you have parked on an asphalt or concrete pad. There is nothing to stop it sliding ahead of your trailer tire, so it must be modified with an anti-slip rubber wedge It is possible to solve this problem with skid backing. *REVISED 9/25/18 We bought two sets of these for our two-year-old and our three-year-old Several years ago, I bought a two-axle travel trailer but I never used it. As we have tried them on asphalt, grass, and gravel parking pads, the most we have ever been able to get under a single tire is one, A non-profit organization was also put down We tried to place a rubber pad under them on an asphalt parking pad, but nothing worked. This experience was a complete waste of time and money for us. My $70 would have been nice to have I will try to purchase it on.
My RV remains attached to my vehicle quite often, so I needed to be able to raise and lower it based on my needs. First time I used it, it worked like a charm on soft ground If you get out to check, set your parking brake before you get back in. It would likely slip and not catch on a flat, paved surface, but it is not likely to need leveling on such a surface. As a result of reading some reviews of similar products, I decided to buy Originally, I had rubber stair pads to put on the bottom just in case it needed some grip, but they did not hold that well, and I was not in need of them in the end. After 24 hours I had no concerns at all that it wouldn't stay put very well. At first I was concerned that it wouldn't really hold in place.
It surprised me how much I liked them and how much I read about How much easier it has been to set up my trailer with these tools. There is no more need to deal with blocks and wedges. Suddenly my trailer rolled off the blocks when I was setting up the scissor jacks, and it rolled into the drivers door of my new car. Even though the retaining walls kept the trailer from rolling, the blocks could not hold it in place. Once these are installed on the trailer, the trailer will not roll or become unlevel because there is no way for it to roll around. This is the only aver I would ever use. The product you have created is fantastic!.
It is true that they slide when they are on smooth surfaces. I love these. There are some that slide on smooth surfaces and some that slide on Using them to level a tire is a breeze once they reach under it. This makes it possible for my wife to actually assist me without having to go through a long tutorial about leveling for the 100th time.
Our 20ft airstream was so easy to level as a result of this amazing invention. The other reviews claim that it doesn't work on asphalt, but we have used it on all types of surfaces (asphalt, concrete, gravel, dirt, sand, mud, etc) and have never had a problem. We set up our set up to be a two-person operation, so one sits at the tire and moves the gray stopper into position, and the other sits at the steering wheel and reverses/drives forward until the trailer is at the right height. If there wasn't someone there to hold it, the yellow thing might slide if there were smooth surfaces.
We bought an anderson leverler like this but were not able to use them due to a close tandem axle. Several people have commented that these would fit narrow tandem axles. That was the case for me. My wife and I have used them every time since best. These are the very best things to take camping. There are some areas where they need a little help with traction, and I did the trick someone else mentioned about applying grip tape to it, and it worked great.
